Hey /o/, I wanna take my Aztek on a trip from Boston to Florida. Before I do though, I wanna address some things to make sure my car is ready for the 1,200 miles.

>pretty good condition except stutters & brakes
When driving on the highway at around 40-60mph, my car will stutter and shake. When this happens, the CEL will sometimes come on, sometimes it won't. When it does, it either stays for just a minute or will stay on for a brief period of time, then turn off. Pushing my vehicle to high speeds (~70-80) guarantees the CEL to come on, and stuttering is inevitable when building up or going at those speeds. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?
When coming to a stop at slow speeds, my car/brakes will make a grinding noise and the brakes will push against me. I only have to pump them once for them to continue working normally, but this is a little scary as it happens sporadically. I was told this could be my ABS by a friend, but I'm not sure. Could anybody confirm this or add to it?

did the suttering happend at low speed but high rpm's ?

Ah, a common problem. You just need to drive it out into a field, light it on fire, and buy literally anything else.

Read what was stored for the cel, but sounds like it could be misfiring when you push it. If it does the same thing when you give it a lot of throttle at low speeds its probably something causing a misfire. Check spark plugs and make sure theyre not worn out, would be worth looking at first.
The brakes are grinding? Like a metal sound? Check and see if you have brake materal left on all your pads/shoes first
