An an EV driver, I seriously can't take ICE cars seriously anymore. I had no idea it would have this affect on me. Every time I see an ad for a car that uses gas, I'm not impressed in the slightest. I think, "What's the point? It uses dead, outdated technology." It feels like I'm stuck back in time and I'm seeing ads for a past era.

Do any other EV drivers share my feels?

If you are actually not b8ing, how do you live with long recharge time? Sometimes i need to do up to 1200km a day. I cant do that in EV. Until they can recharge as fast as you can put fuel in ICE car they are worthless for people like me. Lets face it, they are shoping cars for soccer moms and people who think they make a difference. Reality is they dont. One factory in china will damage earth more than me driving my whole life.

Do people realize that they are not actually doing much to save the environment by buying hybrid or electric cars?

Think about it. The people who designed the cars probably drove to work in a gas powered car. The people who mine and refine the raw materials to make the car use gas and diesel equipment. The trucks used to deliver the materials to the factory use diesel. The trucks used to deliver the cars to the dealer use diesel. The trucks used to deliver the parts to build the charging stations use gas or diesel. The people who service the charging stations probably drive gas or diesel trucks.

Energy can not be created or destroyed, it is only transferred. Whatever energy you think conserve in your electric car has already been used in one way or another.
>>
>>15710817
If you take the production out of the equation a prius(for example) uses gas more efficiently than most other non-hybrid cars. So in the long run since they both run on gas it would be better to Prius.

However unless you get really expensive hybrids like the 918. no sane person should ever get a fucking hybrid. They ruin everything about driving.

Full electric cars are worse in my opinion since they need to get power from plants creating more demand on the power grid of already over demanded powers grids. So they build more plants and pollute more.

I hate to break it to you and shatter your smug, uneducated reality. There is no escaping oil. Why? Because that's just the way the world works, bruh.

Every raw material that goes into an electric car was provided by machines that were made with and run on oil and derivatives of. What's even more ironic is that the materials used for the batteries requires a fuck ton of energy to strip mine the raw stuff out of the ground (essentially destroying whatever ecosystem it is removed from) where it is then shipped on a giant oil/gas loving ship that sails all the way to Asia where it is then hauled from the ship yard on oil/gas loving trains and trucks to plants (that are not part of the Kyoto Protocol) that refine the ever loving hell out if it to give you that nice little Li-ion battery. Where does that refinery waste go? Who gives a shit...it's China, amiright!? Of course...we need to get that battery back to Murica' so on the ship it goes, back across the Pacific to some harbor on the West Coast.

Of course, this is not all done autonomously, no. Big burley men, require big gas guzzling trucks and eat big lunches at their jobs. All of these workers who work directly with, or inadvertently with building that retarded electric car all use machines and equipment that was made with or runs on oil/petrol.

But wait!!! You're plugging your car into an outlet like a dish washer! No harm! Except the very power grid you're plugging into either runs on a form of oil/shale/coal or is a derivate of.

In conclusion, your "feels" are simply misguided. Your stupid electric car requires more raw materials and oil than a Hummer. When I see someone like you, acting all uppity in their shit box electric car, I cannot help but laugh at them and their misplaced sense of superiority where the very car they drive kicks out the legs that they think they are standing upon.

also you still need oil in an electric car, but in the a/c system. Bearings must all be greased, the transmission still contains fluid, etc

We can escape oil, but there's no escaping the massive manufacturing demand for hydrocarbons, of which dino oil just happens to be the most efficient to acquire.

Humanity will develop cheap, fully man-made petroleum before we run out of fossil fuel. The march of progress means it's inevitable.

Wife drives electric because company lease. She prefers to take our gas car anytime of the week leaving me with the EV most of the time. I don't mind as much because I drive short distances but it's an overpriced mediocre car.

I guess EV's have potential but until they pass ICE cars in one of the important areas (range, charge time, design, comfort/luxury) we won't buy one.
I'd be ok with the shit range & charging times if there was a really comfy OR beautiful EV. Or true other way around driving an ugly-ass car as long as it charges fast or has long range.
Wireless charging might be a good alternative soon though, because there's no hassle with recharging then. Still leaves us with the ugly and boring but it'd be an alternative to ICE cars at least.
