My car decided to shit itself today.
I was driving down a road and shifted to 2nd and suddenly lost power, the car kept bogging down and having next to no power no matter how hard I stepped on the pedal eventually stalling.
Now it won't start, it cranks but won't turn over.
My intake hose is secure, all my fuses are fine, what could it be? I had to be towed home.
Could it be my clutch no longer engaging or perhaps my fuel pump?
Car is a 1995 Corolla.

dizzy cap, or fuel pump.
>>15671781
Are you sure? I have the dizzy rebuild kit so I might aswell rebuild it but is there any way to test the fuel pump?
>>15671777
I'd put money on fuel system. Did you run out of gas?
>>15671795
Well if you have spark then its probably fuel.
No spark then its Distro, or Coil.
>>15671947
No, I had half a tank left.
>>15671956
Ok, this might be a stupid question.
I pulled out my center dizzy plug that connects to the center of the dizzy to the starter and asked a passing normie if sparks came out when I started cranking it.
No spark but is that normal? should there be sparks coming out of the center plug?
>>15671975
pop a plug and earth it, see if you get spark.
>>15671975
Nigger what you do to test spark is this. Listen closely you colossal faggot
> Remove a spark plug wire
> Remove plug
> Insert plug into wire
> attach negative jumper cable to plug thread
> attach other side of negative jumper cable to negative battery post
> Crank car, and watch for sparks on the plug, you have to look closely because the sparksare tiny and very quick.
Wow, this thread shows how /o/ really doesn't know shit. It sounds like you snapped your timing belt.

yeah, snapped belt, pistons hit valves, major engine failure.
>yet engine cranks.
go back to your games kid.

>1995 Corolla
>4A-FE/7A-FE engine
>Interference
hurrr
>>15672079
because engine cranking with and without the belt is exactly the same.
>>15671777
If it was running decently before and you didn't hear anything from the engine when it failed, my best bet is fuel pump.
>>15672072
>non-interference engines don't exist
>>15672083
Read again boo boo:
>yeah, snapped belt, pistons hit valves, major engine failure.
>In a non-interference engine
Nope. Perfectly possible for him to have a broken timing belt.
Wouldn't put any money on it. Would have stopped immediately if that were the case.

The only interference 4A engine that ever existed was the 20V blacktop.

Furthermore, that diagram shows an SOHC pulley array. The 4A-FE is a DOHC with two cams driven by the timing belt.

Upon cranking, I could see the belts turning along with the cams.
