What's up /o/, i was trying to find a solution but nothing i tried works, so maybe you guys can help me out.

I bought these rims for my Ibiza a couple of months ago. Now i've used them for a while, the outside of the rim is covered in brake dust. I can't get it off with any detergent, the carwash doesnt help and a high pressure hose does nothing either. is there anybody with a solution? I'm a bit afraid of using a scourer since that may harm the rim.

By the looks of those wheels, I'd say you nailed it.

I'd say you nailed that one too.

have you tried... i dunno... scrubbing it? just spraying it won't remove anything.

Detailer here, Get some mild acid solution, Get wheels a little wet, spray with acid, clean by hand, rinse off. Will look good as new. You can get premixed acid in a spray bottle from O'Reilly's etc. I usually just buy a gallon of non mixed acid off the truck and dilute it.

Will this work on Plastidip? The twat that owned my car previously sprayed a too-thin coat on all four wheels. I already did the WD40 removal method, but there's a lot of spots that didn't soak in properly.

They're Evo VIII Enkei's too. :(
>>
I've had wheels like those, OP (the dirt, not the actual wheel)

You may want to get these professionally refinished. Like sand blasted down and painted because unless you get down and dirty on each wheel, it's not going to come off.

Idk, I'm pretty sure plastidip requires a special solvent to remove. The acid would probably not faze it at all, plastidip is tough shit.

I did try brake cleaner of course. Sorry i didn't specify what i tried already. I used it, let is soak in for a minute and then tried to scrub it off with a wet cloth. As i said, i didnt want to try a scourer. Or can i just use one?

Nooooo!
Use a mitt! And acid or degreaser. You will scratch the fuck out of your wheels!
