unless your on an unsealed road most dust and rocks don't make it higher that the top of the wheel arches

and a surprising amount of bugs get caught by the air flow ahead of the car that goes around it

not all the bugs are deflected by laminar flow and yes they do get filled up with bugs
so do old radiators with there type of grill
