If you wanted to build a drift car, which car would you do it with?
There's obviously a 240sx, but would importing a R32 GTS-t a better option? Or what would be a better choice?
I want something boosted, so I don't really want to start with a KA24 shit pile

op what is my budget?
can i do this
>>15644173
Foxbody, E30, even old Z's are just as capable.
Budget of 8K
z31 turbo

>VG30 turbo
Honestly do you think they can take the abuse?

No you don't, unless you only care about doing big drifts without linking. Turbo lag is a massive PITA for trying to link low-speed corners.
>>15644216
you bet i do.
A drift car is going to need to be easy to work on and have tons of cheap parts. A 300zx (either gen) is none of those things. 240sx is really popular and I can imagine any miata would work. Just use what other people use.

miata
>turbo
>drift knuckles
>roll bar
>15x8s in the front
>hydro e brake
thats about it

Yeah except it isn't. Please stop with the conjecture and go learn to drive ty
>>15644238
Thr issue with a miata is how damn short the wheelbase is.
>>15644220
Well the RB25DET I was piloting sure did link good, even around the tiny little school course at Ebisu.
>>15644248
drift knuckles will make up for this

There's a difference between a stock-size turbo and the massive turbos that the type of people who say "I want something boosted" would think of upgrading to. Unless you run ALS, big turbos have to be constantly spooled to stay responsive. This means any time you clutch in to pull the handbrake, you're basically required to keep the engine revved up in neutral. This also takes away your ability to adjust the nose of the car while doing handbrake entries because your right foot has to be applying throttle instead.

Ah so you're just assuming. Cool.
Tbh the 25 was perfect as it was stock, enough low end torque to get them turning with plenty of top end to match.
Sounds like I should just go 240sx with a 25 swap.
