Also alternatives if you don't like it? 4-6k is what I'm aiming for.

*4-6k leaf dollars that is

Get the sedan

wasn't available in Canada. Canada got the Civic Si coupe, or the Acura CSX Type S

They're great and fun cars but there are better alternatives. It's among the slowest cars in its class, mainly due to the lack of torque and the shit powerband. It doesn't make power until 6k rpm and redlines at 8k, so it's an extremely narrow powerband.
Alternatives:
2002-2007 Subaru Impreza WRX (beware transmission failures. Switch to an STI 6 speed when you can)
2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged (makes similar power, but due to a better power band, is almost a full second faster down the 1/4 mile)
2004-2007 Saturn Ion Redline (same basic car as above but with suicide doors)
Acura CSX Type S (basically a Civic Si sedan with the JDM front and rear fascias)
2002-2006 Nissan Sentra SER (beware the 2.5L engine. Make sure you put on an aftermarket header and eliminate the pre-cat. Otherwise you better save up for a new engine)
2005-2009 VW GTI
2005-2009 VW Jetta GLI
2007-2009 Mazdaspeed3 (beware engine mounts)
2000-2003 Nissan Maxima (get it with the 6 speed manual)

Thanks. I was looking at the 6MT Maxima, seems to be powerful with good torque as well. The main thing is to find one which doesn't drink too muh oil.

If you're willing to go older, I'd also look at 1989-1995 Ford Taurus SHO's. They famously took down V8 Mustangs with their FWD 3.0L Yamaha built V6.

Unfortunately these are a bit hard to find in good condition near me. Also If i remember correctly they were only automatics, and I'm after a manual. But thanks.
Needs ecoboost

>Also If i remember correctly they were only automatics
You are wrong. They were initially manual only. An automatic option was added in 1991. They didn't become automatic only until 1996 when they switched to a 3.4L V8.
5 speed manual cars had the 3.0L V6
4 speed automatic cars had a 3.2L V6 to make up for the power loss through the automatic transmission.

I think they are really fun daily drivers. Don't expect to win many red light races with one in stock form, but that's not what they are made for anyway. I really like the driver-focused interior of them as well. And while they are not all that fast, they certainly feel quick while driving. It's a shame you can't get the sedan though.

Last of the ungodly RPM limit Civic Si.
Best sounding too.
All the new ones sound shit and can't rev high.
They are reliable and fun and driver focused.
But not very fast at all and you have to always be driving it semi-aggressively to make up for lolnotorque. and shit mileage too.

I love my 9th gen. It's a good all around daily driver. Plus, fun project cars if that's what you're into.
>>15621057
Yeah, I would love to have the sedan. Not looking for something amazingly quick, but fun to drive and not a slowpoke either.
>>15621057
Canada got the Acura CSX Type S instead. Same basic thing, but with a different front and rear end. It just isn't labeled as a Civic. Same suspension, transmission, engine, etc. The only difference is the front and rear ends, which are interchangeable with the American sedan anyways

Driver fun is really what I'm after. How do you think it stacks up against my aternative the manual 03 Maxima? (250hp and about same torque for reference)

Wash your car it looks like shit
