Little known fact: cars with long hoods are safer than today's cars
>>15616045
This is objectively wrong.
Crumple zones, airbags, seatbelts and abs all server a purpose
>>15616045
Well all else being equal a longer hood is safer in a head on crash, but back then they weren't designed with crumple zones, so they were much less safe. Usually the steering column would cave in the drivers chest or some shit or the engine block would smash the cabin
go to bed gramps and get some eyeglasses
these look like shit

I always just called those cars postwar. Is that wrong? Late forties to early fifties, once the manufacturers started making new models again; past the beetle-looking lead sleads of the 30s but before the shoebox-sided chrome mobiles of the late 50s and beyond.
They're gorgeous, at any rate.

I always call them Cuba cars because they were the last years to reach the country before the import ban.
