Is the R8 a supercar?
I'd call it a super gt than a supercar
It has lots of creature comfort and lots of people use them as dailys with no complaints
>>15613395
except for the unreliability
>>15613430
A 600 hp supercar isn't meant to be ultra durable now, is it?
>>15613368
never really understood the hype behind the R8
>>15613496
I think its a nice looking car. Also that V12
>>15613527
what most are v8
Is it Exotic in appearance or has exotic features? (number of cylinders/unusual materials etc)
>>15613382
>>15613388
check.
Does it have an exotic price-tag? (around the cost of Ferrari or Lamborghini's current staple performance car such as the 458/488 and gallardo/huracan.
Does it grab normal non-car enthusiast's attention more so than the average Porsche 911 when rolling through a decent middle class community?
Is it at least faster than sub 40-50k performance cars? (adjusted for inflation)
This is subjective but these would put it in the realm of Super-car for me. am i missing anything? Some cars tick all of these boxes but are Luxury GT cars so they might be slower than the before mentioned budget performance cars.
>>15613496
its a genius car though because its existence was apart of a marketing move that drew more costumers from the Mercedes and BMW brands whom Audi was loosing costumers to.
>>15613527
Man, it has a V10 not a V12.
>>15613562
That was a concept car though, it existed. Not sure if it still does
>>15613496
>never really understood the hype behind the R8
It was the first production car with full-LED headlamps
What the LFA is for Toyota, the R8 is for Audi.
>>15613368
my literal next door neighbor owns one
lives in a modest home like me though
>>15613613
>TDI
pls no
>>15613635
>fuel efficiency
>less risk of the car becoming engulfed in flames after a major crash
>cheaper fuel
Meme or not?
>>15613613
Oh I didn't see the tdi.
>>15613657
dumb
people like supercars/sports cars because they have loud, throaty gas motors with high redlines and lots of power
just because diesel is king in endurance racing with all the mpg and whatnot, doesn't mean it would be any fun in a sports car
>>15613430
>unreliability
lmao compared to what your 1996 Corolla or Civic?
>>15613663
I agree on the sound part although using diesel would make it much for appropriate for daily use and long commutes + the added safety.
>>15613630
It's a modest supercar for a modest person.
Reasonably price tag, highly dailyable.
it looks like they put eyeliner on a first gen and made it skinnyer
This shit is fuckin gorgeous
>>15613388
Oh mah gawd theres a v12 tdi? Must be a mountain of torque.
>>15613368
Sure looks like one
>>15613368
i dunno but id r8 it 8 outta 8 for bein pretty gr8, m8
>>15613728
of course. it also sounds nice with a straight pipe
>>15613728
limited to 811lbft
>>15613692
what added safety ? you have bigger fatter engine behind your neck ?
>>15613700
i thought that was the GTR
>>15615164
Doesn't gasoline ignite on powerful crashes? Diesel doesn't do that
