At least other shitboxes are fun because they aren't trying to be fast. Then you get in a Civic SI expecting something and it is utter disappointment.

Piece of shit Renault Clio that belonged to a friend of my mom's. It stalled out at a red light and I couldn't get it to start for a whole green/red cycle. Pretty embarassing situation.

I will rank the 4 cars I have owned from best to worst:

1) 08 Corolla (owned now)
2) 93 Corolla (owned 2nd)
3) 94 Corolla (owned 3rd)
4) 98 Mustang (owned 1st)

Mustang had a leaky seal in the soft top so id have pools of standing water in my car every time it rained. It helped my popularity in high school a little bit though :)

I don't mind my '13 spark. Sure, if I'm going slowlife I'd rather have a maximum comfy ameribarge or Lexus LS to be cruising in but I've had good luck with it service-wise. No power, absolutely. A 73 Type 1 converted into a Baja Bug, but with half-rusted floor pans, multiple holes in the bucket of snakes exhaust, giant tires even for a Baja conversion, a carb that refused to pump properly, and badly reinstalled doors with giant gaps. Only one headlight worked, the transmission was wobbly and seemed to have a mind of its own, there was no power because of those giant wheels, steering was vague at best, and it constantly smelled of gasoline and Black Ice.

One of my cousins had bought it for $2500 from an old hick in Gary, Indiana. I wrote "Dung Beetle" on it in sharpy on the back, and I don't think he ever noticed. I deeply regret not having any photos.

>>
>2+2 280ZX that was donated to my high school auto shop.
Velvet red interior was literally disintegrating into dust, much of the electronics didn't work.
Still had rust problems even in fucking California of all places.
Clutch was completely burnt out, essentially had to ride to clutch to get into any gear.
Suspension made all sorts of worrying noises and rode like a boat.
Previous t-bone accident caved in rear quarter panel, ended up completely cutting it out and just drove around without it.
Had roughly lost half it's of it's horsepower, it was so pathetically slow even my shitbox fiesta could outrun it.
A million other issues I can't remember at this point.

Although I'll give it slack since the previous owner just completely neglected it beyond belief.

This one. The only one where I could not find anything particularly "wrong" expect that it was a huge piece of shit in every aspect

There was just so many weird things about it, and there was seemingly no reason for any of it. The suspension felt like it had way too much travel, the steering was unusually heavy, heavy gear shift, audio was complete shit, interior was the cheapest I ever felt, fucktons of engine and road noise, incredibly annoying to work on due to the compact nature of it, strange lack of low-end power in the diesel engines, headlights were basically about as good as two large candle lights and the paint had apparently started flaking after three years

My old 240 but I still miss the fuck out of it, rest its soul.

>oil leak
>gas leak
>power steering leak
>randomly lost brake fluid
>remains of both rocker panels held together by paint
>floor pans equally rusted out (one would later get a hole thanks to a retarded friend)
>both the fuel pumps were dead or dying so I had to jump them to life by momentarily connecting both fuse terminals with a paper clip every time I wanted to start the car
>rear shocks were completely shot
>engine mounts swollen and soft due to oil leak
>reverse lockout switch broke so I had to rig something together with a clothes pin and some wire
>glove box would fly open if I hit a medium sized bump without fail
>temp gauge only worked below freezing temperatures
>fuel gauge stopped being accurate under half a tank
>parking brake couldn't hold the car but still dragged even when fully relaxed
She was so much fun in the winter though, used to hoon all the time and drift around corners, not that I had a choice though.

Driving a Toyota Camry is the automotive equivalent of shooting yourself up with lidocaine. There is literally nothing fun about it. Can feel literally zero bumps, zero shifts, zero Gs on acceleration. All of that on an equally forgettable chassis. Doesn't have the fun land barge driving experience, or fun small shitbox experience. It is so middle lane that it beats out white bread in blandness.

Worst car was this Eclipse. Get this, its 100 degrees out side, the cars fans are stuck in max heat, the windows dont work, the power steering didnt work and I had to drive it through a very slow auction.

Second worst was probably a Lotus. Bumpyist fucking car ever and you have to cram your ass inside it feet first with the door open. Also had about 10 different triggers that had to be done before it would start and the mother fucker had a bad battery. Piece of shit.

Between the two, I would set fire to the Lotus. The Eclipse had some excuses.

2008 saturn sky would probably be my pick. My sister owns one. It's a "sports" car but it's so fucking bad
The steering is much heavier than it should be
Brakes are waaaay too sensitive, push the pedal down half a centimeter and the tires come to a dead stop at like 35
Throttle is waaaay too loose, you need to push it down like a foot to get the rpm over 2000
Interior is okay looking I guess, but the seats are too low down to see shit
Car is slow as fuck, the top speed (140 mph) isn't bad but it takes like 5 minutes to reach it
Turning radius sucks
Like this car is worse than my 2000 olds intrigue
Smooth as fuck turning
Brakes and throttle aren't too sensitive nor loose
Interior is comfy and bright due to large windows
Easy to see out of from drivers seat
Car is faster than it looks, and makes +52hp more than the sky (170hp vs 222hp, stock intrigue makes 215 but I did stuff to mine)
Better gas mileage
Better turning radius
Much more storage space
Can sit 5 people comfortably
The only thing her car does better than mine is overall top speed (140 vs 110), weighs less, and maybe the look of the car depending on who you ask
But I paid 2000 for it, while she paid 14000 for the sky. To this day I kek when I see her shit car

Peugeot J5 9-seater (1993). We had that in our volunteer fire brigade.
Weak engine, loud, unsafe, stupid setup of controlls (lets change everything to a position other than people are used to - hon hon hon).
It was good with interior space and never failed completely. We still needed it to change before plan, since the side sliding door came of at 100kph with kids on bord (FF youth).

Funny enough the next car in line of failing is yet another Peugeot (Partner; it gets wet inside if rainy). The 25 year old Merc on the other hand is doing well.

I would have to say the 2014 Chevy Imapala Limited. I received it as a rental from Hertz while in Iowa. Now, I know that the Cruze and Malibu may not be the most exciting vehicles to drive at their base trim, but they're okay econoboxes.

This piece of shit though.... ugh. I had to read the manual and the insurance card to make sure the car was actually a 2014 MY because I felt like I got in a time machine to the late nineties. The radio and entire interior was cheap, really cheap. THe hardest, thinnest sounding plastic with a bad fake wood tri. The radio looked like something out of 1995, it didn't even have bluetooth. The controls felt extremely cheap. The shifter knob was unlabeled and made a huge CLUNKING sound, you had to rely off the display in the gauge cluster to know what gear you're in (oh, but there wasn't any tactile feedback from the shifter to tell you how many gears you had moved through). The seats felt sort of like bean bags with no support at all; not plush and comfy like a 90s towncar, but just like they were inadequately made.

The driving is actually worse than soulless. I'd have to say that the shifting in the malibu is odd in the automatic, but this was just slooooooww! The engine was undersized too. Without paddle shifters you just had to wait on the automatic to do its thing.

The next time I was in Iowa, I got the keys...for an Impala. I said (To the hertz guy, who knew me on a first name basis) please give me a car that doesn't suck. He told me that it was redesigned in 2015 and much nicer (and it was).

But I'll never forget my experience (and utter disdain) for the Impala limited.

No, it was some gutless tiny I4. I still wouldn't recommend one since with the V6 you might as well get a "real" car with a somewhat peppy engine because the clio won't cost less to insure or get better gas mileage.

I drove a Scion FR-S the other day. It felt, accelerated, and handled like a 20 year old rattling shitbox. I never understood "meme car" until now.

Again, that's the point. It irritates me to no end when people rag on Camrys because they're "no fun." No shit. They're not intended to be raced with or hooned with. They're built to get their owners to and from wherever they need to go without any drama or fuss. In that regard, the Camry is an excellent car.

2014 Nissan Versa automatic sedan.

Had to rent it for a week on a business trip. I've never been so terrified in a car. Every turn felt like I was going to tip over, and the slightest breeze sent me swerving into the other lane. The interior looked like Fisher Price made it, and the engine sounded like it was going to explode whenever I tried accelerating over 50.

Ford KA and Citroen Saxo were the worst.

Ford Fiesta was a pretty comfy small car but my Honda Civic is lovely to drive.

For its purpose it is excellent. I wasn't arguing that it's a POS, it's not. I'm just saying it's simply the most numb driving experience in existence.

This thread made me realize that I've never really driven a bad car before.

I guess if I had to choose it would be a friends 2003 Honda CRV or another friend's 2005 Dodge Ram 1500.

I would say my mom's 2005 Pontiac Torrent but that thing is surprisingly driveable on the highway.
>>
Worst car I have ever DRIVEN would be a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 200k hard miles. Next would be a 2005 acura tsx. Fucking factory-riced civic 4-banger POS.

Worst I have ever ridden in would be the assorted minivans I rode in on school field trips.

A really run-down late 90's Ford Transit
>steering had a metric assload of dead zone, also the power steering system had a sizable leak for good measure
>synchros busted from the first two gears, the rest didn't feel too healthy either
>the interior fan worked on a random basis
>rolled coal pretty much all of the time, flooring it on an uphill resulted in a billowing cloud easily visible from the mirrors
>oh god the rust, even the average scrapyard didn't have half as much rust as that thing
Was interesting to say the least

VW have "sealed" trannys, when I had to put mine back together , I had to go to a local shop to have it pressed back together, you can still change the fluid with a magnetic 17mm bolt though on mine.

Mother owns this

>90k miles, gone through 2 transmissions
>Sealing/Leaking issues within 20k miles
>Electrical issues, would randomly shut off the lighting or traction control
>handled like a whale
>looks like a jellybean
>no trunk space, no way to get into the rear seats

what the fuck? is it designed to fail?

No, they just want to charge you more money and not let someone do it their self, the synchros on my mk4 weren't the best and I needed a change do to the occasional grind when I power-shifted.
It costs me 40$ to have it pressed, German complexity turns into a meme once you have the tools.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. You're right about that then for sure. It really is very numb and uncommunicative.

Its a shitty DCT. I feel sad for every anybody that bought a car with that transmission. On Edmund all the bad reviews were from people with an auto and the good one from people with the manual.

>sit in a 2005 cavalier the car worse is that shitty mexican chevy
>sit in a 2005 elantra cant even belive that both of these cars competed each other.

that interior looks like shit
>>

>there are people that willingly bought those

How horrifying.
