Hey /o/ I got approved a loan of 12k from my credit union for a used car 2009 or newer, <100,000 miles. I wanted to get a G sedan I might be able to convince them to get the '08 sedan idk. any alternatives that are newer and same price? a rwd sportyish sedan basically.

Seriously don't op. It's a terrible decision to finance a vehicle in general let alone a "luxury sports sedan". If you really need a vehicle and need to finance use the /o/ under 5k list and get something that fits your needs.

I would look into a Pontiac G8. The V6 models should be starting to hit that range, and 2009 was the last model year. V6 models have a 3.6L DOHC V6 making 256 HP. It uses the same chassis as 2010-2015 Camaros so it's not like aftermarket doesn't exist.

I was looking into those too but not sure how they'd stack up reliability wise with a G sedan.
I might have to compromise and get a hot hatch of some sort, sucks to say.

what do you drive?

It uses the Zeta chassis and the same basic V6 as the base model Camaro so those are a good reference for reliability. In 2009, the 3.6L was updated which fixed all the early teething problems with timing chains. They're pretty bulletproof from 2009-on
