Does Dodge pretty much have the best marketing team for naming their cars? People want something that sounds cool. Sometimes retarded names can even sink a vehicle like the Nova or the Escort.
>we want the 13 y/o audience
I so love the name Huayra.

I feel you. I always used to see car naming as one of the things American cars did differently from European cars.
American cars all had snazzy names, while eurocars were all tryhard sophisticated serial numbers. I know theres stuff like Ford F-150, but they seemed to be the exception rather than the norm.

All i know is BMWs are all filled with 3s and 5s and theres a 6 somewhere. Brits fight over the I's. The E's are good....or bad...and then theres the M's that are uhhh, M's.

BMW's naming system made sense until the 90's. It used to be:
325i = 3 series, 2.5 litre displacement, fuel injected
Now, it's:
325i: 3 series, relative power compared to other trim levels, fuel injected.
These days you have 328is with 2.0L turbos and 335is with 3.0L turbos. It's stupid.

>BMW 325i ??????
BMW names used to make sense.
325i = 3 series, 2.5L fuel injected engine
530d = 5 series, 3.0L diesel engine
740iL = 7 series, 4.0l fuel injected engine, long wheelbase
etc
The new ones half the time don't follow the engine displacement part, but I think they still use C for convertible, L for long, d/i and stuff
