put the seat all the way back and he couldn't reach the pedals. Racheted the seat to it's highest height, plenty of headroom still.

Confirmed. I'm 6'8" and those are damn comfortable. I'd have one if the only really nice engine (3.2l vr6) wasn't only a limited production run. There are only 250 or so of the RSi and they cost a damn fortune by now. (never seen one under 50k€)
