e30 M3

Mint condition they are going for $70k if that says anything about them.

I am still kicking myself about it, I almost bought one in the mid 2000's for $12k but thought it was too much money at the time. Not just almost bought it because I saw it in an ad. I had actually taken the cash out at the bank and even drove to the guys house but bailed out at the last minute when he wouldn't drop on price at all and it wasn't completely pristine. Talk about a hell of a return on a car if I would of bought it... Too bad a couple months later the lady got pregos and that $12k magically disappeared.

E30, but you already know that.

thats because theyre old and have a reputation they can never live up to

Yeah it was good when it was launched, now it gets beaten by your moms crossover.

The ideal M3 would be an E30 with an E46 engine.

The E30 looked nice and good, and had a light chassis, but is underpowered compared to the other M3's.
The E36 will always be an older E46.
The E46 got most things right, but it's more bloated than the previous ones.
The E92 is basically king pigfat. It's a great M5, but a mediocre M3.
The F80 is heresy onto the name of natural aspiration.

But is still faster than a BRZ.

People don't buy an old car for the power. A modern Toyota Camry could lap a lot of 60's and 70's era exotic sports cars around the track, does not make them worth any less.
>>
>>15416227
its reputation is for being the winningest racecar ever
in full race trim it made 380hp while still being ~2200lbs
the memesters buying it for its racing heritage are buying a completely different car in the first place
>>
Best bang M3's were the Euro S50 E36's and E46 M3's.

Both are still fast in today's terms.

Low mile ZCP 6MT E46 M3's fetch even more. EA had one listed for $99,900 recently. It sold however not sure of they got the ask.

There was also an E46 and an E39, both low mile cars that sold as a package for $120k. Individually they were listed for thousands more.
