Usually 1-3, depending on circumstances. I kind of go back and forth with my car. I like it, it's damn reliable, decently fun (manual), and fulfills every need I currently have for a car at this point in my life. However, at times it's underpowered (like hills), I'd like to practice drifting like a fag but I can't with it (fwd), and I'm not a huge fan of some of the styling and color (red sunfire). But by and large, it's a good car, and it deserves to be looked back at, because it does it's best.

Once to verify that the lights blink when I command it to lock. One more time when I am a good distance away in case someone has just run up to try testing the doors to see if they are locked.

That was a problem at my former university. The campus is fairly open, so non-students wander in and look for things to steal. To avoid looking too guilty the basketball americans may bounce a ball or even use our hoops at various dorm buildings. When new cars pull up, they run to test the doors especially if they park in the 5 minute where people dash inside to get something, drop off someone, or pick someone up.

Because our campus was plagued, I became wary and would look back at my car just in case someone was trying to get in.

I love my goddamn car too much for what it is. My wife makes fun of me for washing and detailing it every Sunday. It makes sense though, since she gave up photography to be a nurse there isn't much passion in her life.

The ironic thing is that she's done her due diligence by gaining weight since the wedding. Now whenever she asks me why I pay so much attention to my car, I look her straight in the eyes and say:

"Other people may not understand why I love it, but nevertheless it's mine and I will take care of it until one of us dies. Just because other people can't see its beauty doesn't mean it's not beautiful."

There's a palpable silence, then she goes back inside.

Now make fun of me for my brand new 2016 Chevy Sonic. Fuck you, I love it.

I hate driving other cars, i only like driving my own car. I look at it non-stop, i get paranoid when i park it in public and i get worried and anxious about its future (if it ever gets stolen, crashed, involved in an accident etc.)

In general im very over-protective of my car and its wellbeing. It would be better if i parked it up to protect it but at the same time i want to drive it

I really did love my car.
It might have just been an LS, but I lived in it throughout the best summer of my life, got my first ticket in it, and it was the first car I hit the speed limit and rev limiter in.

She got killed by floodwater and I actually cried because it was my fault, I shouldn't have parked her where she was.

My caprice needs some body work. It does have rust. The doors are pretty bad when you open them, I plan on restoring the doors. The front bumper needs to be replaced or dinged out and the rear bumper needs new reinforcement brackets because the rear bumper is loose and hanging down. However, yes my caprice looks great for its age. And runs great and comfy! Getting the AC condenser replaced since I replaced the compressor soon to have AC! Heat also works great for winter! And not planing on new rims. However, might buy new hub caps. Thanks for you complements!

My CRV has also been crashed 3 times by my mom, one on a left, once rear ended and once she tboned a chick taking a left, somehow none of those where her fault. It's weird. Also in a ton of fender benders also by my mom before it was given to me.

My CRV may be shit and unreliable, but its served me well.
