Basically this.
Cayman/Boxster maybe too.
>>15400753
So only porches then?
I thought some other brands made some reliable fast cars
>>15400782
What's the matter, too poor?
>>15400753
i don't think boxsters are known as race cars. what series can they even race in?
>>15400750
there's a reason why miatas are popular race cars, and it's not because their owners are all hairdressers
>>15400806
>there's a reason why miatas are popular race cars, and it's not because their owners are all hairdressers
Because they are also gay?
>>15400814
that's not a race car
>>15400806
There's spec Boxster racing series' out there.
GTR

Slaloms isn't racing, bby.
>>15400826
Spec racing series, mjet. Stop embarassing yourself.
>>15400825

There are Boxster/Cayman spec racing series. What's your point?
Although, I don't see Miatas doing the 24h of Burgerking.
reliability is a meme. stop using it as benchmark.
>>15400843
Well there you go, Miatas are being used as race cars. Quite popular, too, because they handle well and are cheap and easy to modify.
Yamaha R6
Suzuki SV650/GSXR600
Honda CBR600 RR/F4i/R
Kawasaki ZX6R/ZX636
>>15400876
OP asked for cars though.
>>15400838
>>15400879
Bikes are cheaper, and easier to race, easier to setup, more reliable, and simpler. Skills learned racing motorcycles can transfer over directly to cars, but not the other way around.
I'd suggest a Suzuki SV650.

Shedden shedding bodywork to avoid the black flag the sly little jock fuck
>>15400893
Thats like someone asking for boot recommendations and you suggesting sandals as they are easier to wear. Fuck off and be a tard elsewhere.
Most vintage race eligible USA made cars from 63 to 72. Really any actual race car (meaning one that competes in a regularly run series, not /o/'s definition of a race car which is any car that is somewhat sporty and has been entered in a point by track day), it's going to blow up or get crashed at some point. To keep racing costs low the most important thing is them being easy/fast to fix and have tons of parts availability.

If you have to ask on /o/ you'll never build a actual race car to complete in a race series let alone realize how difficult and expensive it is to do so. A bike is literally half the costs, just as competitive if not moreso (equal machines, all dependent more on rider skill), and easier/more reliable.
Get a sportbike, cunt.

Bicycles are cheaper, and easier to race, easier to setup, more reliable, and simpler. Skills learned racing bicycles can transfer directly over to motorcycles, but no the other way around.
I'd suggest a Cannondale.

This is fucking wrong..
t. raced both

>>15400935
Except bikes are faster than cars.
>>15400828
Any other spec series that are affordable?
At least at the lower end of the price spectrum?
>>15400944
On the Isle of Man perhaps
>>15400950
Caterhams, Ginetta's, Mini's, Renault Clio's
>>15400944
nope.
stock m4 gts is faster on burgerking than the bike record.
>>15400955
And 944s, hell, even Civics have their own spec series.
>>15400955
A mini race sounds adorable, well off to YouTube.
Thanks for the answers, bros
>>15400989
Mini's were actually pretty fearsome back in the 60's/70's, they regularly buttfucked escorts, jags, mustangs and camaro's in the btcc

>Weight transfer
>Braking points
>Racing Lines
>Carrying momentum/speed through smooth inputs
Pretty damn similar. Just motorcycles rely more on body positioning and counter steering. You're still trying to exert the most traction out of both for a given amount of acceleration to get around a closed circuit in the least amount of time.
>>15400953
I guarantee you no $5000 shitbox you can cobble together will be faster and more reliable than a 10 year old supersport 600/1000 will be out the box. Hell, I don't even think $5000 builds you a decent Spec Miata car nowadays. Maybe a LeMons car after you do all the safety equipment (big $$$ in any car) and wheels/tires (not counted in LeMons iirc towards budget as it's seen as a safety item)
>>15400960
You're not buying a M4, let alone a M4 GTS on a /o/ budget.
>>15400893
>Hey guys, can someone recommend me a good red wine?
>Buy some Grey Goose
This is how fucking dumb you sound.
>>15401002
none of those transfer. braking points you can throw out the window, a car can go much deeper and harder, weight transfer should be non-existent on a bike if you're riding it properly since the cg is not static
riding a bike and driving a car on a track couldn't be more different. a car needs to be manhandled, something you can't do on a bike. it's a totally different experience to use the weight of a car to make it do what you want.
racing lines and being smooth sure, but that's about it.

he's a retarded troll with a scooter, leave him.
Literally civic is always the answer
Make sure to get some Spoon™ parts, too.
