>ferrari had more BOP changes made to the Ford GT after getting btfo at watkins glen

>"IMSA's recognition of the GTM performance imbalance was met by allowing the Corvette C7.Rs to drop 10 kilos (22 pounds) and to increase horsepower and torque by installing air restrictors with a combined 0.4 mm wider opening. A minor increase in fuel capacity (+2L) was also granted to compensate for the increase in consumption."

>"Like Corvette, Porsche's 911 RSR will also remove 10 kilos (22 pounds), Ferrari's 488 was given a minor fuel capacity increase (+1L), and BMW's M6 received no changes."

>"Ford's twin-turbo V6 GT went in the opposite direction of Corvette's C7.R. The GTs will race at CTMP with an extra 15 kilos (33 pounds) and have had power and torque taken away with turbo boost reductions from 2000-7200 rpms"

Since daytona the Ford GT has now had, 3 Boost Reductions, and 25kg of weight added…..

And Ferrari on the other hand has had 1 boost boost reduction and a 10 kg weight increase.

The corvette had .6 total reduction in intake and 10kg of weight added...

With these current changes that have been made to the corvette it will be down only .2 intake. Making it nearly as fast as the beginning of the year at Daytona.

The Ford GT keeps getting slapped with performance disadvantages but still fucks Ferrari and Chevy in the ass. It's amazing how you're so quick to make threads claiming Ford is cheating but never report on the fact that they keep getting significant BOP changes. So, what's your excuse now Ferrari and GM fangirls?
>>

There was never any doubt that Ford would win these races and Ferrari would penalize them. They did the same thing to the Corvette's last year.

You're posting on the wrong board.

This is what happens when you participate in competitions where Ferrari is involved.
Ferrari will continue to be btfo.

GM only needs to sell more cars and avoid going bankrupt. When that happens, the chinese will then buy up the patents for pennies on the dollar and take over. A lot of USA companies had that same practice done to them. Now that China has been building up its auto and tire manufacturing factories, and that the USA bought so many car parts from them, China is just several years away from making USA cars. After all, they make or own the companies producing 65% or more of the raw parts and assemblies that go into USA cars.
>>
>>15393723
They still wouldn't be able to create any cars of value or excitement.
>>
Why have these balance requirements anyway? Why not allow the engineers to try to make the best possible car that they can? If they worried about balance, they should make everyone drive the same car.
>>
>>15392259
I'm fucking sick of this pussy ass leveling.
Like for fuck sake, make the rules and then stop fucking with things.
New car too fast? Everyone else plays catch up.

This ruins motor sports.

We want fast cars and spectacle races, not some damn rubber-banding restrictions that treats cars like kids where everyone is a special snowflake and everyone is a winner.
Weight class? sure.
Power and fuel restrictions? NO, fuck NO!
If some car makes a lot of power but drinks more fuel, the pit stops evens out well enough.
Oh shit, mazda made one good car and it rapes everyone, quick ban it!
Ford GT is back again, restrict it left and right!
What's next?
Oh shit Audi brings back all wheel drive again and rapes everyone, quick make it wear skinny tires and add weight and lower power just like last time, that'll show them that it's bad to win a race.

History tells us a different story. Every time a category gets goes unregulated there's usually only single team/manufacturer that dominates. This leads to fans getting bored and since they know what the results are going to be. They no longer stop coming to the races which means the series is no longer making any money and gets races cancelled until the series itself is closed. It happened to Can-Am, Group C, GT1 in the '90s and again in the '00s. It's happening to F1 and LMP1 today.

If only the new car wasn't almost a prototype, with no cars actually delivered, and shit ton of waivers trown at it... maybe.

I think you are both right.
BoP would work if everybody were honest upfront and brought their car out for BoP testing at full performance at the start of the season. Since Ford and Ferrari were sandbagging like crazy, the initial BoP was way off. But these changes mid-season are unacceptable and make the whole championship a joke.

I think they should just restrict power-to-weight and aero and give the GTs a minimum and maximum weight and be done with it.
