Bought a 1986 Chevy 3/4 ton truck my dad is convinced i cant put AC in it. is it true they didnt make these trucks with AC?

Of course they made them with AC. Go to a pick n pull, find one with AC, and pull all the AC related parts off of it.
>>
they definitely did. also have them with power features as well. 85 k10 myself. good luck with it. also check out vintageair kits if you dont want to get donor parts and just want a kit.
>>
thanks
now I miss my old 86 chevy 3/4 ton

So if i have a cab that didnt come with AC is it a pain to put ac in it?

She looks like a good work horse OP, adding AC may or may not be a pain in the ass, there's some differences in the cabs. I've got an 81 GMC half ton 2wd factory AC, the air box and dash are different, as with AC trucks there's ducting from the heater core, over to the drivers side both below and above the dash, there's also a hole in the firewall where the AC condenser is.

Tl;dr your best bet is to get a vintage air kit, rather than cobbling something together from pick n pull parts.

My dad had a blue 86 with AC. That throttle body 305 is downright awful.

87 was the first year for throttle body.

Welcome to the family, brother Scottsdale.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but wasn't it i. That mind 80's when chevy had that down tune in its engines?
>>
>>15396714
Yes, that's why just doing headers and a tune or carb and intake swap will net you 30-50hp and plenty of torque
