The housing by itself is worth 20 dollars OEM on ebay and you can aslo find it on the ford webpage.
Its super easy to install, a mechanic may tray to overcharge you since is that easy of a job (A 20 minutes job with basic tools).

i tried autotrader, used kelly blue book and it said it was worth 8,500. i looked every day at different dealers for weeks. i live in southern california not too far from LA. the dealer wanted 9,500 for it and i got him down to 8.

Bad first car. Pre 2011 V6 mustangs are made of glass. Not a good price but dealers will always be more expensive than private sales.

Anyway can confirm the thermostat housing, happened on mine. Another thing you'll want to check is the drain under the cowl on the passenger side or you'll get water leaked on your carpets.

I owned mine for about 2 years and the only problem I had was the thermostat housing from about 63k to 80

the upholstery fell down a couple days ago and i just fixed that today but thats the only problem i've had.
it was at 68k when i bought it and its up to 78 now.

You my also check if the throttle body is dirty, in ny old mustang 2005 at 100k that thing was so dirty sometimes the car turned off itself in step hills, once i washed with Theottle Body cleaner, the car felt way snapier.

You dont really need to take it out, you can get another person to press the gas pedal while the engine is off (Just turn the key until the radio turn on, pressing the pedal opens the throttle body) and spray the cleaner, JUST USE THE SPECIAL THROTTLE BODY CLEANER, USING A BRUSH OR BRAKE CLEANER MAY FUCK YOUR THROTTLE BODY CALIBRATION.

if its super dirty, you can take the whole body off, if that's the case i recommend you to go with a mechanic since that's a delicated part.

There are tutorials on youtube about that too.
