BMW E30 M3 vs Mercedes 190E Cosworth
Which is better?
E30 M3

>>He fell for the ecoboost meme
16 valve 2.3/2.5 motors take boost like a fucking champ. Look for a 190e 2.6 and for a couple thousand on stock internals you can make well over 400hp.

Cossie. The whole point of the thing was to kick in the M3's teeth.

The 190E Cosworth is better, but this who don't have an endless amount of money the E30 M3 is the only one that is actually attainable.
The merc is the better car, mainly engine-wise. Yet, it never won as many races.

But the M3 was a faster car
Mercedes-Benz is more comfy, reliable, practical, and a better engine imo, also cheaper. E30 is slightly better handling.

2.6 is a 6 cylinder engine with a different front clip.

The last E30 M3 was a better car because it was the last one of the 2 to be updated. Otherwise, it went like most of these things do, the M3 was updated to beat the 190E, then vice versa.

The E30 had the better chassis and driveline. The 190E looked the best.
Both should've had inline sixes.

Mostly this. You want an E30 in the weekend, and the 190E during the week.

>I have never driven either car.
Thanks for your opinion
M3s are skyrocketing in value, so a much better financial decision.

Dude, the slowest E30 M3 (us model) is faster than a 190E Cosworth

For all variants the E30 M3 is lighter and has a faster 0-60 time. Hell, the US spec E30 M3 (slowest one) has a better power to weight ratio than an 190e Evo 1 because it's almost 200lbs lighter.
I don't know how the road versions would do against each other on a track in time attack, but the E30 M3 certainly has a weight and acceleration advantage.
The Beemer is better as a performance car, the Merc is better as an all-rounder. Really depends on what floats your boat. I'd much rather OWN the Mercedes.

There's a million comparisons on the Internet by people more qualified than me, and I have driven driven a 2.3, 2.6, and cosworth 190. Only e30 I ever drove was a 325ix though.
