Hi /o/ long time lurker here about to buy a brz as a daily car. I was wondering if rwd is capable of surviving during the winter with snow.
Yes, I've been DDing a RWD for years in Canadian winters. Get good winter tires, not all seasons, and if you have a light car (Brz probably counts) put some sand bags in the trunk for extra traction, or emergency grip medium

Tires make or break a car in winter. Your $70,000 Audi with Quatro AWD isn't going to be stopping any faster on ice with bald all seasons. Having a light foot on both the gas and brake will also make the world of difference.

yes, get proper tires and use common sense and you'll be fine

Basically this. Don't listen to those idiots who buy nofunallowed cars because they're too retarded to handle low-traction scenarios.

No, RWD cars explode the moment they touch snow.

>all seasons
More like "no season"

This exactly has got me through 5-6 seasons of harsh wisconsin winters with RWD sports cars. Just see if you can get something wider than the stock prius tires.
Fwd is better in snow
