It's not bad at all but the rapid increase in leaning from the first cone to the last looks squirrely. It probably wasn't the point of that exercise but you didn't use your throttle at all. Rolling on and off for each lean would make a world of difference, albeit if it increases your distance between cones. It's always about control, not speed when it comes to drills. The slower the better unless those were emergency swerves.

Hi guys, looking to get my young nephew his first motorcycle as he keeps asking to borrow his Dad's Hayabusa (Which is far too much for a 15 year old)! What dohc i4 water cooled bike would you recommend? He likes the look of the Hayabusa fairing if that helps

My dad has this CB125 rotting in the garage, he said I could have it if I got it fixed.

Currently it needs a ton of shit to be road legal, but it does run. The big issue is it will randomly rev up on its own, at idle and on the road, and you have to bump the throttle to get it back to idle. It's got an aftermarket carb, but it feels like its tuned right, and the mixture screws aren't vibrating out.

We comfy now.
The seat didn't quite fit right. It took quite a bit of forcing to get it on. I even had to leave off the front hook bolt to get the rear bolt in. Also it was resting directly on the battery so I temporarily took that out. Overall very poor fit.

It's significantly more comfortable than my old seat. However I would have preferred the standard height seat as the foam in this one is pretty thin. Also it dips down in the middle which makes me feel like I'm trying to slide forward if I sit back on the seat. For $20 I can't complain though.


Also I mounted my phone on my handlebars and the vibrations ruined it again so my pics are worse than ever.

You can always convert a dirt bike to be street legal by installing turn signals and such. Cheap parts off Amazon and eBay wouldnt even cost you $100. It's work and head scratching but there's plenty of guides and info online and you'll walk away with know-how experience and satisfaction. Look up bikes in your price range on CycleTrader in your local area. Don't buy from a dealer unless you're that scared of buying something you can't fix.

Dirt bikes are taller than other bikes so take that into consideration when choosing a bike. Any bike can handle mild terrain if you change the tires imo. Adventure bikes sound perfect for you but assuming you're on a budget and not stupid enough to drop and learn on a dream bike your only options are secondhang dirt bikes or sport bikes.

Boring blogpost ahead.

Had a nice ride to the gym, except the bit where entering a t-juntion on a downward slope I let the bike down. Panicked for about half a second, then marshaled my resources and was back on the bike within 5 seconds and on my way. This is the second time I put it down, first time I managed to maintain a semblance of dignity. Full face helmet and nearby bus moving out of sight just before it happened helped. I supposed I'll let it listen to wisdom of the road many times in the coming months, so it's good I'm learning how to unfuck a bad situation.

Ride home was great, caught three yellow lights in a row. No machismo bullshit, just legitimate lucky yellows. Safe and sound and bike seems intact after I moved mirror back into place. The initial fear seems to be passing.

Mount the bike first then tell her to get on. Have both feet planted flat on the ground while she mounts. Tell her to hold onto you like she's hugging you.
