Hey guys, just picked this up for $950. 1981 Kawasaki 440 LTD with 6900 miles. This is my first bike, I'm getting my permit next week and then taking the motorcycle safety course.
Did I do good?
Its pretty clean for being 35 years old. It runs fine; everything is in pretty good shape too. Little bit of corrosion on most of the chrome but its not noticeable unless you're close.
Little bit of scuffing, maybe it tipped once in the past. No damage to the fuel tank or anything else. Paint is all nice too.
It is dusty and dirty, I'll have to give it a through cleaning. I was just outside wiping the external dust off.
Rear tire has plenty of tread left but the chan won't let me post the pic for some reason.
Front tire will need to be replaced.
Anybody got reccomendations for a helmet?

If it's older than 1990 I try to pay $1 per CC or less. But it looks in decent shape.

Damn. Well, the only bikes in that price range are hours away. I live in a relatively small city (100,000) with the next closest city being 80 miles away, and its even smallet

I don't know shit about bikes, but that appears to be mint for the year.
$950 is nothing so good buy!

Don't beat yourself up, you did alright.
In my area people still pay $2000 for early 90s Ninja 250s and Honda Rebels
