How? Manufacturers often use the same engine in different applications. It's a pretty common practice. McLaren uses the same 3.8L in all their cars from the entry level 570 to the P1 GTR. The Subaru WRX uses the same engine as the Forester. The BMW M2 uses the same engine as the 1-Series from 6 years ago.
