Dedicated mini truck thread?
Full size trucks are cool and all but you just can't beat the practicality of a good mini truck.
Here's my '86 Nissan 720, named Ferris. Not a looker and certainly a project, eventually there will be a KA24DET under that hood too.

Nice ride OP I'm saving up to get my self a 1986 720 4x4 ST. With the fuel injected engine.
I really want to get a 2wd Nissan D21. The later ones with the KA24 and turbo it and have a little autocross truck.
I sold this last week. Was a great truck, but I needed the money for a deposit on a house
Danger Ranger reporting in. I've got 60% of the parts I need for the engine swap.
I'd love a mini truck but in the UK they're either totally fucked, expensive or expensive with extra markup aimed at exporters for Africa. Stuff from the 80#s like above is pretty much non existent here.

Don't fell bad, they've stopped producing mini trucks here in amurica. Fuckhuge midsize trucks are all we have now, Atleast until Ev's are more common, and someone makes a small truck.
Something something chicken tax

Anyone know the cost-to-own for a datsun hardbody? How does it compare to something cheap like a Ranger or a CR-V?

The rangers weren't known for reliability, and the lifespan of each generation was relatively short.
Datsun trucks ran up until 1986 (basically no aftermarket support), and Nissan hardbody (d21) ran from 1986 to 2008. That's a 22 year production cycle. In my opinion it's cheap to get parts and and still you can still find clean truck's. Personally the prime year for the harbodies ran from 1994-1997 in the USA. These trucks came with ABS, airbags, and had all the emission stuff sorted out. I think they are all 50state legal, when it comes to smog checks, if do move to a state with smog, it shouldn't be a Hassel. Stay away from the automatics, and you'll have a ride that will last well over 300,000 miles with some TLC.
Just bought brakes all around and gearing up for a lift headers and a cam.
