2015 models have been known to blow turbos with comp remapping. Some even without.
If you don't want to void your warranty you can get a piggyback like the jb1 or neuspeed power module. If you add a downpipe remember you will need a spacer. With that you should be around 300 horse and around 320 lb torque. Will need a new clutch eventually if manual. Dsg clutch can take it.

I got a 2015 golf, but they updated the new headunits with no warning, and they have apple play, which is fucking amazing.

FInd a nice used 2015, they are probably one of the best cars you can buy in the price range.

I tried both the Focus ST and GTI and the Gti just does everything better than the focus aside from the torque sensation.

I'm fortunate to hear that there were updates for 2016. If getting my 2012 TDI bought back is worth it, I'll switch over to a GTI.
