It pretty much fills a spot between the big touring bike like the gs1200 and the smaller gs800,
it looks pretty nimble for its weight.

It's not as good as a 800 on "real" offroad traks because the front is heavier,
but since it has a 50/50 weight distribuiton it's a good compromise for everything else.

Also it looks like the sex.

I hope I'll be able to get a used one without abs, unlikely tough.

I've sat on one at a bike show. It is and the adjustability seems like it would be good for long distances. There was a little too much flex for total security in the foot plates.

However, it's getting on for VFR money when you're getting what amounts to a riced NC750 so I'd personally go for the V4 master race.

My bike is cosmetically a bit fucked, /dbt/. Part of the windscreen mount is bent and one of the rails on the tail is entirely broken off along with the other being scratched to shit. I contacted a few places around town to see if they could do anything about it since I can't bend the windscreen mount back. The body shop said to go to a motorcycle shop, but the only Yamaha one in town won't fucking respond to my calls or emails. Can I take it to a dealership that doesn't sell Yamahas to see if they can do anything about it? I would imagine not. I don't have time to ride 80 miles to the next Yamaha dealership when I work at my Uni on the weekends and at the hospital on weekdays. Are here any other options? Could I just ride it to this one that won't respond to me and go "Do this"? It's not even complicated work, I'm just not equipped to do it.

Keep badgering them. Every time they make a (usually bullshit) claim on what's left to be done, demand a timescale. If you've heard nothing once that time's elapse, call them again and keep calling them until shit gets done.

I assumed my insurance company (MCE) would just get shit done and get back to me but the fuckers were either deliberately stalling or breathtakingly incompetent at every stage and it took 8 months from the accident for the money to arrive in my account. Show them no mercy, they won't show you any.

I can't find any good used Supermotos in my area. There are only dual-sports.

It's your body but hand injuries are incredibly debilitating. Even a moderate road rash on the palm will take weeks to heal and will be weak and insensitive afterwards, as in, the scarred skin could tear opening a soda bottle.

Just try wiping your ass or shampooing your hair with the opposite hand to the one you usually use to experience a fraction of what a crash without gloves will do to you. I'd sooner ride in flip flops than without gloves.
>>

Losing skin is incredibly debilitating because it never grows back in a condition that's as good as it was before the accident (assuming you don't need skin grafts, which could result in something far worse).

It's no different to arguing that a helmet isn't needed because hitting a tree head first at 80mph will be fatal, helmet or no.

If more force pushing a tyre into the ground results in more friction, why are lighter bikes able to corner at higher speeds than heavy bikes?

there's less force pushing the tire sideways toward the outside of the corner

long as you have riding experience and understand the basics of how ridiculous a supersport can be when going nuts on it - you should be fine.
The 600's are fairly tame down low so cruising around you'll have a hard time letting them get away from you outside of potentially grabbing too much brake with as powerful as modern supersport braking systems are.

A liter bike is pretty similar with the exception of most will have a lot more power at lower revs.

If you practice good riding habits and actually practice learning advanced riding techniques you'll have a good time.

pretty much. There's a new factory opening up, they have another one 30 mins away a bunch of people in town work at. Friend who is a production manager for them said he'd get me on as maintenance at $26+/hr.

But just is hard to let a comfy job like this go. + I think my uncle might be like 5 years or so from retiring and giving me the dealership. He wanted to give it to his son but he has no interest in powersports so he has mentioned it'll be mine some day if I want it.

I imagine my uncle only takes home like 50k/yr though so I won't be gaining much $ wise except a career I enjoy.

Yeah. I got a 2007 klr650 second hand with 22k miles I've dropped it 4 times, put 2k more miles on it, bent two sets of bars, worn out a set of tires, totaled my radiator shrouds, dented the tank, cracked my cowling, threw a rock up and put a hole in my exhaust, cracked the top box and I'm forgetting something

Is the Rekluse Z start pro clutch worth 600 merican pesos?

Oh I also broke my helmet lock , and my header is loose.
I'm trying to remember that it's a 430 pound motorcycle with 80/20 tires; not a trials bike

>>15252823
Pic related
>>
>>15252858
Well I only crashed it once on the road.
I've mostly been going down in loose gravel. I'm the type that hates putting his feet down
>>
>>15252872
>I'm the type that hates putting his feet down
>tfw stop and go traffic
>tfw spend 20 minutes maintaining balance by drifting the bars left and right
Cagers will never know this feel.
Heavy bike too.

>>15252857
go home no bike
>>

> implying I'm no bike
lmao mad retard? I probably rode more bikes in 2 years than you will in 8
>>
>>15252863
shit that's heavy
>>
>>15252892
Yeah. It's always fun
>>
>>15252911
Yeah. That's the only thing I regret about it. If in could do it again, I'd go Dr-z 400
>>
>>15252619
Only 60 per year? How? What bikes are these?
>>
>>15252768
Probably go with some schedule 40 1/8" steel pipe if you like to weld. 2 feet is 0.48 lbs and $9. More than strong enough to bolt some ammo cans to them and survive a crash, the canss would fail before the frame would. You could get elbows to thread on if you don't care to weld the ends together.

I was it was easy to clean the front sprocket. I can't stand knowing its a thousand times dirtier than the shiit I cleaned off my rear sprocket/chain.
>>
>>15252948
Sounds like a good idea. My only worry is how will I mount a swivel hitch to it and would it be strong enough to drag a small trailer with a kayak on it
>>
>>15252948
Oh and if you have any scrap lengths you can make a totally sweet fucking zip gun because 1/4" steel pipe will chamber a .22lr cartridge.
>>
>>15252973
>drag a small trailer with a kayak on it

Ambition, my son, will be your downfall.
>>
>>15252973
You could use the hole for the pin used to secure the swivel hitch to the mount and run a length of pipe through it. You'd have to jury rig the rest to keep it horizontal though, with a light trailer and a plastic boat you could probably get away with some heinous work around or another. Drill a hole and run a spring for the unsecured end to the stock frame above it.. Might be less liable to break than welding it in place.

Man this guy sold is k100 for $400 when I offered the $600 he wanted if I could get a chance to look at it first. Thought too good to be true but still let down.

Maybe was a salvage or stolen bike though.
>>
>>15252985
If some prick on a bicycle can tow a kayak why couldn't I? It will weigh less than a passenger.
>>
>>15253004
I was going to make it kind of triangular shaped. A triangle that goes from the passenger peg, to the area with the blinkers, and have those meet just behind the swing arm/tire. Then have a cross bar connecting those, and two more bars going out to the swivel hitch.

Is it hard to ride in Australia?

Finally bit the bullet and bought a bike. So stoked to finally get one! I ended up getting for my first bike a 2008 Hyosung Aquila GV250
