Sup /o/ranges,

I'm looking to buy an 2013 Scion FR-S, and it's a good price - $14k with 24k miles. I did my due diligence and looked at the VIN:

2012, Colorado - "REPORTED AS INSURANCE LOSS - VEHICLE
SOLD BY INSURER. CLAIM PAID TO INSURED
VEHICLE LOSS CAUSED BY COLLISION"

2013, Colorado - SALVAGE
POSSIBLE TOTAL LOSS - VEHICLE
TITLED/REGISTERED TO AN INSURANCE
COMPANY

2015 - Nebraska, - REGISTRATION EVENT/RENEWAL
PRIOR SALVAGE

The title status on craigslist for the vehicle is listed as "title status: clean." and says the accident was minor.

This doesn't smell right.

Also, the last odometer reading on the VIN is 3789, but it's selling with 24,580 miles. Is this also something of concern?

Salvage title. Run away.
>>
>>15246806
if you're buying an frs you might as well have it salvaged and stolen. enjoy your shit car fag
>>
>>15246818
I'm sorry, is it that time of the month again for you?

Midol does the trick, dear.
>>
$14k for a salvage title shit car is in no way a good price.
>>
>>15246806
That's not a great price for a salvaged car, but it would be a too-good-to-be-true price for a clean title FRS with that many miles. I wouldn't blow $14k on a salvage title, myself.
>>
why are you looking at an automatic frs. that's awful.

Dude, an auto FRS with a salvage title?

What are you doing?
>>
She looks like my sister...

Thank you OP, now I can fap without guilt
>>

Gibe the VIN number
But in all seriousness AVOID SALVAGE TITLES LIKE THE PLAGUE

The extent of damage that needs to occur to create a salvage situation in a new car is a bit more than a rearend accident. Moreover instead of having a clean car to work with, you have a car that was stitched back together, who knows what workarounds they did that might hamper your ability to keep it roadworthy.

You would be less terrible if you bought a stick. This is half the price of a non totaled car. Is the price of a non rebuild car so bad you can't go that route?
For 14k you are buying a car with
>No warranty
>The drivetrain that gives toyobarus a bad wrap
>A wrecked car.

Seriously finance a new stick toyobaru or buy an automatic civic. Pic related. My Subaru

>>15247528
Buying an automatic FRS is how you end up regretting your decision. Don't do it anon
>>
>>15246806
if its rebulit then you get all fresh parts for a lower price, do it
>>
>>15247595
what post is this?
>>
>>15247595
BRZ is pretty much a FR-S, dude.
>>
>>15248136
Just the tail is a little stiffer in the subbie, badge and a little interior work. They are identical outside of that. But I agree with everyone else screw the Auto and a salvage. You can get them in much better shape for the same price just look around.

>"title status: clean." and says the accident was minor.

When they are BOLDLY LYING to you ON MAJOR ISSUES, that is already a bad sign. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to take the cash from you.

The car probably had a bunch of temporary repairs to make it work or fake running smoothly. After a week, the fixes will wear out, burn out, melt, dissolve, or whatever, and it will become crappier than ever in your hands. A hydrolocked engine could be in there but massaged to work just for your test drive.

>14k on a salvage title with a janky record

Ladies and gentleman, the average intelligence of toyobaru owners.
