I dunno man. would be cool for sure, but iRacing has the time, money and talent to outdo anything that is possible in rF2 right now. I'd say that, with their current tech, their dirt racing will be slightly better than what rF2 can do, but not by much. However, there is something that can be done (with a shitload of work) to rF2 that iRacing has no way of easily replicating right now (and they don't plan on doing it any time soon btw) that would put rF2's dirt leagues ahead of iRacing.

I'll be honest right now. The real goal of this mod is to hopefully encourage the people who still use ARCA Sim Racing and rFactor Dirt Mods to make the jump to rF2. The ARCA dudes are very dedicated to their game and still update it to this day, it would be excellent to see their stuff really shine with the capabilities rF2 offers. And the rF1 Dirt community hasn't made the transition for some reason, maybe a lack of interest or effort? Or just a limitation of rF2? I personally don't see how rF2 can't do something that rF1 did, but lets see what happens. Those guys have access to the real vehicles and tracks that I could only dream of, so as someone who is so far away from that discipline of racing, the goal is to just show a good way to do it in rF2, what to tweak and whatnot. If I manage to pull it off, I'll probably compile all my knowledge into a small document to tell people what I did and how.

Of course that doesn't mean I won't try to make the trucks as realistic as I can.

It isn't "simple" (or as "simple" as it might be in rFactor) in iRacing because the cars don't drive on the 3D surface. In rFactor you are a vertex shader away from doing it.

It's not that they can't do it, its just more work. Probably.

If it shoots out so vigorously from even the inklings of a turn, then you probably need to edit your diff settings too, or raise front tire pressure to have a more equal balance between tyres

yes having the rear pressures way up will help, but if your front ones sit around gripping then it's going to be all over the place, getting yourself a degree of predictability for drifting is key which often means evening things out suspension wise then dictating most of the "policy" with the diff

Proud of what? The grass drift? I am proud of every webm I made, at the time of making it.
I got into the whole racing thing like two months ago. I had no idea what I was doing and any kind of slide or skid was an achievement. So it's a fond memory for me of stepping stones, trying different things and having the car behave differently.
Naturally I understand that things I "achieved" are all very basic. But hopefully other people new to racing will get some entertainment out of it.

I know fuck all about wheels, I've been using a controller since my shitty old wheel broke ages ago. The t500rs I'm looking at has about 100 hrs of use and is only the F1 wheel and base, no pedals or shifter. I can get a G29 for $359 AUD but im not sure how much it is worth paying for the t500. I'm thinking about $400-450 max but honestly I got no idea about it. I could also get a new t300rs for about $550 but I don't really want to spend that much just to have to buy new pedals and a shifter.

I badly want to upgrade my g27 to a t300 but the reliability issues are scary. They are leagues apart, it's like using 140hz over 60, you can't go back.
Apparently 2016 t300 models are twice as reliable, but if my g27 can last me years without a single issue, daily use and plugged in constantly, why can't thrustmaster? g27 is god tier but it's a toy compared to belt driven large diameter wheels.

I got this game last night on PSN using a gift card that my older brother had given me for Christmas and I hadn't used it. How do I git gud? I find the opponent racers and the police AI's retarded as fuck and infuriating. Most of the time I try to corner properly but they come at high speed into my bumper and send me into walls because they couldn't break. But because of the AI's they make me crash and when I do, I lose my position to the 8th place.
