My ninja 250 (2005) is making a weird ass noise when I get finished riding. It sounds like a huge fucking fan is blowing. Like a PC fan turned up to 200% is blowing hard. It stops about 30 seconds after I turn off the engine

Mate I don't know the first thing about how a motorcycle works. This bike is 11 years old with an odometer discrepancy, it could be anything. I also can't get it to idle without the choke on 25% or so, so who knows. I turn it off with the killswitch usually but the key more recently (and when I noticed the noise)

Also the carb needs to be clean/tuned. The carb could just need a quick adjustment on the idle screw. That would fix your no idle without choke problem but your lack of knowledge will betray you. Need to take it a mechanic.

Is the maintenance and having to replace parts on an XT350 anything to worry about? There's not really an aftermarket and hunting ebay for overpriced used parts sucks. It'd be a first bike.

Also looking at a TW200 which would be way easier to get parts for but lacks power for longevity and hooligan fun.

Started the repaint process on my Suzuki VS800 after getting some new tires on it.

Going with Flat Soft Iron to go over that awful sun faded gradient. It's a nice metallic flat. I'm doing the tank tonight and I'd like to do it without removing it, but that'd make for a shoddy job.

Buy threaded metal rods with washers and nuts at home depot or whatever hardware store. I don't know what the diameter you need but they're different for front and back. get regular skateboard wheels (the harder the compound the better), and I hollowed them out with a dremel. Turned out pretty good and they looked clean enough for me

Proper wheelie measurements are angle(°) and time. Distance is decent but I don't consider it an ideal measurement because slower wheelies are actually harder than fast wheelies, so a wheelie of the same time would look less good if doing it at 5mph than 50mph.

A big reason that i'm looking at the Ural is because it's one of the few motorcycles my parents (living there because uni is close) could accept because they have fond memories of having them in the ussr.
