cheek pads are actually the part of helmets that seems to "bed" the most.

You want it to be tight around the cheeks, a bit of chipmunking going on and then the helmet will "bed" and they'll be comfortable.

You don't want it to be painful or too difficult to close your mouth though.

I know people over 40 on sportbikes who would beg to differ, one of them returned to riding in his 50s on a gsx-r600 and now rides a thou, one time when I was a noob I was following some dude on a 600 and when he got off he was like 65+ easily.

Haven't been able to ride my 2004 Yamaha R1 for about a month now due to unfortunate circumstances out of my control. I should be able to ride again tomorrow. However, the bike has been parked outside the entire time (50-80 Fahrenheit) usually. Now I know I should try to ride till the gas is empty so I can fill up with clean gas, but is there a high probability that the bike won't even turn over?

Well, even though it was a pain in my dick, my hands, and my shoulders, swapping the spark plugs in the V-Stronk was fucking worth it. Put in the NGK Iridiums; CR8EIXZOMFGBBQM80. I can use 6th without the bike sounding and feeling like it's going to explode. Smoother, better throttle response too.

Two things to try. One, try putting one finger on each side of the bony part of your nose and pulling the skin outward. It has a small effect, but helps open the nasal passage a little. See if you can pull in any air through there or maybe get some of the crud out. Two, ever use a nasal rinse? That plus Mucinex works fucking wonders.

If I am to believe the receipts of the PO and the OG PO before him, mine is still on the stock clutch plates that have done 230k km.

Even with the werks basket I can still get clutch slap occasionally when taking off at high rpm. I forget to measure the clutch plates the two times I had the clutch case side opened. But maybe I have shit clutch control? IDK. The hydro clutch on the big strom has an extremely tiny friction zone.

Mine's only at 39,3xx US miles. I will occasionally get a little jump-jump action taking off from a stop, but I think that's more my technique than anything else. I love the thing in 2-6th gears, but I like my DR650 more for buzzing around town because it's easymode in comparison.

I've read somewhere that the V-Strom is pretty lean down low for emissions/economy silliness; maybe the Iridiums tolerate that behavior better? I'll take pictures of the plugs tomorrow night if I can remember to do so. I've also read that installing a Power Commander helps smooth it out because it fattens the fuel in certain RPM ranges, which correlates with what I mentioned above.
