What's the best 4x4 car?
and why it's lada niva?

Offroad capability is outstanding, but that's all it had going for it. Post-Soviet build quality would be pretty abysmal.

i find it cute :3
I think it's astonishing how they sip like 12 liters on 100km with a tiny engine (like 1.6l I think)

It's fine for what it is.
Step it up.

Your shitbox doesn't seem like it was built for Moab.

>It's fine for what it is.
it is the best

wiring loom
head gasket
cylinder liners
piston rings
water pump
>all fucked
everything else is fine on them tho
1979 chevy K5 Blazer is the ultimate off road vehicle.
Prove me wrong
Pro tip :you can't
>>15188377
I can't, because it's the first time I hear about it! Well, it's bigger, I don't know if it's a disadvantage or not. I remember some Shevy offroaders were prone to rusting though, Niva is pretty sturdy in that regard, I think it's galvanized.

>no bullbar in front

It's actually total shit, but it's super cheap and easy to mod.

>Offroad capability is outstanding
It's outstanding for a low-end SUV, and mainly because Niva is pretty much the only car in its class to include crawl gear and a locking differential. But compared to, say, a 2nd gen Pajero it's a total shitbox. And hell, even Russians themselves make a better 4x4.

That engine has stayed nearly unchanged (apart from fuel injection) for like 35 years, and the body has aerodynamics of a barn on wheels.
It would've been great with a diesel option, but Lada cannot into diesels (or transmissions that won't blow up from more than 100 Nm of torque, for that matter)

>galvanized
It's not. They did improve the paint a lot in the 2000s, but it's still quite prone to rust, especially if scratched by tree branches or gravel (although that is in Russian climate, which will probably chew up a stock Chevy in a year)
LITERALLY what's stopping me from buying a brand new niva in russia and bringing it to the US as a "1991"
>>15189018
I dunno, the fact that the тeхпacпopт will have the actual year listed and it's not that easy to forge them anymore?
