Hello, /o/,

I have a hypothetical for you.

You suddenly have an infinite amount of money and a sudden overwhelming desire to see the world, and in order to do so, drive the route in pic related (I'll write out a rough list too).

Rules
- have to choose one conventional 4 wheeled vehicle to do it. You can't swap vehicles en route
- you have infinite money, so are allowed to bribe officials to make border crossings no problem
- you have infinite money, so in large enough towns and ports you can pay boat captains to ship you and your vehicle overseas as shown on the map

What vehicle do you choose, what modifications do you make, and what do you take with you for your trip?
>>
>>15184084
Oh, and how much money do you think you'll spend in total for the whole trip and everything you need to do it?

Why would I want to spend more time in Africa than in Europe?
>>
>Drive through the middle of the amazon after magically crossing the andes at non-accessible points
>Cross mountains at random
>Ignore the entire eastern section of europe and NA
>Don't drive through china for any of it's good parts
>Ignore India
>Visit none of Russia, Mongolia, or Scandinavia
>Yet criss-crossing through Africa like a maniac

What fucking idiot planned this route?

>4x4 only

Dammit now I dunno what I'll drive, G63 AMG is perfect for this gig
>>
sorry for late reply, took a while to write it up

The list of cities is too long and tedious, so here’s a link to the map: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1XYC5lfJE_hLSHNsEtioKinWuUOU&usp=sharing

The route has 4 legs.

#1 - London, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Himalayas (Indian side), Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand.

#2 - [ferry to Chile via Antarctica], Patagonia, Bolivia, Peru, Recife, Amazon delta, Guyana, Venezuela, Caribbean, Colombia, Panama (yes, crossing the Darien gap. If literally impossible, get a boat), Mexico, USA, Canada, Alaska, cross the Bering Strait (boat was organised with the Russians using lots of cash earlier in the journey), Through Siberia to Kamchatka, another boat along the chain of island to Japan, along the chain of Islands (Okinawa), Philippines, Hong Kong, South China.

#3 - Himalayas - Tibetan side, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Boat to Dubai, Oman, Yemen (boat to Socotra and back), Djibouti, Eritrea, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Niger, Chat, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania/Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana (Okavango Delta), Namibia (Namib desert), Joburg, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town

#4 - Ascension/Tristan De Cunha, Cape Verde, Azores, Portugal, Spain, France, London.

Yeah it needs refinement. Would have taken a bloody long time otherwise! But obviously the car is not expected to climb mountains. You can pick your own route where it isn't obvious. The vehicle should be able to cross countries with like Kazakhstan and Mongolia with large flat areas.

>>15184161
Europe has too many roads. And I live in Europe. Africa is so much more appealing.

I don't know why I'm bothering to respond to you, but if you look more closely at the Africa route I have deliberately avoided the Congo rainforest and any problematic areas.

Not a bad idea. I'd use a custom built engine designed for durability and low compression, with a restrictive carburetor to save on fuel and be able to run on shit gas. It'll have enough power, we aren't racing. Cylinders and pistons are also easy to change, and no cooling system to fuss with. Suspension is simple and durable. We have unlimited budget, so storage space for supplies isn't so important, as we can have it shipped to us at rendezvous points. Yes, I think this is a very good car for this. If the two-wheeled variety were allowed, I'd most definitely choose a Honda CRF250L, since it was actually designed to be a third-world shitbike with long service intervals and low octane fuel in mind.

As an afterthought, a baja-style modified VW 412 might be better, as it's the same thing but with four doors and more space for supplies.

why do you drive along the coast of antartica when you can go through the south pole
also completely ignoring Colorado, Wyoming, Russia
and a lot off these places you just follow the coast so your just going to get cities and highway, might as well just buy a ticket on a tour buss
