What would it take for you to respect Cadillac again?

It doesn't matter how good certain Cadillacs models are. Without aggressive marketing and undercutting established German rivals, Cadillac's market share won't grow.

They stepped up by a lot in the past 5 years. I never liked an American brand this much. Cadillac is one of my top3 liked brands now.

When I have the money, I wish to fill my garage with Cadillacs only.

Anyone with automotive knowledge already respects Cadillac for essentially inventing the modern car.
>>
>>15087477
You don't need a lot of money thanks to brand perception causing significant resale value diminishment.
>>
>>15087465
It's growing in China, They're dropping german brands for Cadillacs for some odd reason, hence why the CT6 exists
>>
>>15087474
>UAW

fucking socialist democrats I swear to god they ruin everything. They destroyed detroit
>>
not making the ugliest cars on the market
not making cheap garbage compared to the competition

even then I probably wouldnt respect them as they dont do anything special
>>
>>15087512
The CT6 electric version will be manufactured in China due to market demand and import tax avoidance. Most Chinese at my university usually drive BMWs followed by Mercedes. I've lost count of international students driving BRZ/FRS or GTRs. Very rarely do I see Chinese driving a Cadillac.
>>
>>15087537
are you in China or in the US?

German Marketshare is dropping for some odd reason and they want more american products in general.

I attend the University with the 3rd largest Chinese student population in the US. Either international students in engineering are sponsored by their country and are absolutely brilliant or their parents have close ties with government officials and their children are on vacation in the US.
>>
>>15087537

I don't know about Cadillac, but I know Buick outsells all german brands in China.

Also Cadillacs sold in China have been made in China for some time now.
>>
>>15087583
US Chinese population is very different from the Chinese market. So your whole spiel on what you see in the US was dumb as shit.

1. A lot of chinese people are Ameriboo's. Former leaders in the past sung many praises for buicks.
2. Fuck Japanese goods
3. Chinese people like large luxobarges for maximum comfy
>>
>>15087601
I'm simplying stating the Chinese upperclass drives BMW/Mercedes whereas the rising Chinese middle-class drives Buick. This is of course different from the US where middle-class brand perception trickles down from the upper class.
>>
>>15087608
yea pretty much, only the US Market keeps giving the germans money to keep putting out shittier and shittier cars.

>tfw Kia has a higher crash safety rating in Europe and the US than MBenz who touts they spend $1mil a day on that shit
>>
>>15087608
Most Buicks are rebadged Opel's with more sound deadening material.
>>
>>15087637
The Chinese Upperclass in America.

Not in China, the German Car Market is dropping while the US Car Market is seeing a decent amount of growth

This. Also, modern Cadillac is actually very good. I would rather a CTS-V than an M3 tbvqhfamily

Buick had built a reputation in China since before communism. I guess people there still buy them cause the reputation had stuck all these years.
>>
A recent picture from a visit to the Cadillac dealer. I wish I took a picture of a black interior with carbon fiber CTS but I was too depressed that the car was dusty from no one expressing interest in the vehicle.
>>
Coming from an advisor in a Cadillac dealership in Phoenix the CT6 will do just that.

My jaw just about dropped when the MSRP info stated the engine and transmission were made in the USA and the car itself is assembled in Michigan.

Also the fact that is a roomy and comfy boat of a car and is now RWD like the ATS and CTS. The XTS started as a mistake and ended as one.

As the salesman say to me, "Caddy is back baby"
>>
>>15087707
It needs that V8 though
>>
>>15087707
They're still selling the XTS and CT6 at the same time. That might cause some confusion to the typical Cadillac buyer that goes to the dealership asking for the best/flagship car there. Though all the salespersons I've talked with said they were happy with the performance of the vehicle during the short test drive during training and that the Bose Panaray system is impressive. Though I hope nothing goes wrong with that audio system since the wiring must be a nightmare.
>>
If they just fix that fucking guage cluster on the ATS, I'd buy one in a second. I'm waiting for gen 2 of the ATS, then I wanna get one.
>>
>>15087713
Motortrend seemed to favor the v8 in the Camaro SS compared to the v6tt in the ATS-V. Though the new CT6 v6tt has a smaller displacement with relatively the same output as the current LF4 in the CTS V Sport. Cadillac has more marketing material here: http://media.cadillac.com/media/us/en/cadillac/vehicles/ct6/2016.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2015/mar/0320-cadillac/0320-cadillac-twin-turbo.html
>>
>>15087733
Unfortunately Cadillac cheaps out on the gage clusters for most ATS/CTS trims. I've read plenty stories of people going to BMW instead of Cadillac due to the feeling of cheapness at staring at the very thin "digital" gage cluster.
>>
>>15087441
Making gracefully shaped (as opposed to egg-shaped) cars powered by V8 engines with willowy, uncomunicative suspensions and gaudy, opulent, and remarkably comfortable interiors. Making your flagship model a bloated, formless sports sedan just doesn't really seem like what I would consider to be Cadillac.
>>
the CTS-V wagon is on my dream garage list. anyone willing to make a proper manual wagon in modern times is good in my books.
>>
>>15087713
>>15087779
I'm pretty sure they're adding a monster turbo V8 option soon too

Wow, really, all they do is an ATS-V Coupe.
>>
>>15089269
I'm just wondering why they made a brand new v6tt when I don't think anyone was really complaining about the current v6tt in the CTS V Sport and XTS V. I wonder if it has anything to do with the rough idle at cold startup and some noise from the turbo wastegates.

I watched something that showed that the Chinese really like black buicks, and the biggest selling point of any car over there is rear passenger room. So you'll see all these long-wheelbase versions sold like hot cakes over there.

Do they offer a 2.0 turbo ATS with 6-speed manual and limited slip differential?

Bring back the EXT and manual Vagon
>>
>>15090753
For the limited slip differential, the magnetic ride control and manual, you'd have to get the 2.0t premium coupe which is around $47k.
>>
>>15087671
Tbvmqhfam me too i'd take a V before the bimmer.
>>
>>15090878
The equivalent in the sedan is around $45k. Though buying a new Cadillac is a bad financial decision due to depreciation. Though good luck finding a used manual premium ATS in coupe or sedan. Certain Cadillac performance models are impossible to find depending on your state.
