How do you guys grab your shifter?

It really depends. If I'm just pulling from 1-2 or 3-4 I'll put my palm on top. If I'm going from like 3-2 or 5-4 I'll put my palm on the side to naturally push the shifter into position.

Mostly with fingertips or the heel of my hand. It doesn't take a lot of force to change gear.
Except for reverse. Then it's a proper grab around the top and tugging it into gear because it's a little unsynchronised bitch.

With my old car and the Vauxhall Gearbox, it was whichever way would let me apply more force at the time without stressing my shoulder.

For upshifting I just kinda throw it into the next gear using a fairly light grip

Downshifting is also a light grip, but slower and more controlled, usually I'll grab the stalk just under the shift knob because I don't have a short-throw shifter

Depends on the car. I usually just gently pushed it around in a mk6, in my own bora I grabbed it and yanked it around like my dick

Sometimes i dont even grip it, i just use my palm to guide it into place, or i grab it like i would a broom handle when im fucking around. When i just feel in tune with the car i grasp it like its intended to be
