Any tips to make the brakes better?
I have an '08 C30 T5 and the brakes do stop the car in time, but it feels like I'm stepping on a sponge anytime I brake and don't transmit trust that the car is breaking to me
Heard replacing the rubber brake lines for steal ones helps, but the only source for that I could find was one dude who also replaced the whole brake system for a more sporty one

I daily drive one, super comfy (850 GLT). Get the FWD, less shit to break and still pretty nimble despite its size. I can't speak for performance since I have a nasty exhaust leak but the auto is pretty smooth and the 5 cyl is plenty to get it going. Easy to work on especially for a FWD, lots of thoughtful engineering

I got a machinist who gives me hella good deals he's gonna redrill my hubs to match this lug pattern so it's all good.
I had him redrill my festiva lug pattern to fit my rotas.
He can also machine the pad on the wheel to pull it in if need be.

I'm no expert, but I wouldn't see why the 240 pads shouldn't work if they fit. Interchangeability is one of the awesome things about volvos.

Funny thing is that the PRV are finicky engines, but they're faithful if you just remember they're a lot higher maintenance than redblocks. And one can't deny they sound good.

Yeah, as long as the heads don't have to come off ( of which you should take it to a guy who knows these even if you do have the tools) most mantinence is straight forward. Learn how to do a valve job and you will save yourselve quite a bit of money. They will also last longer if you don't go by volvo's maintenance schedule and use some john deere plus 50 or Delo 15w50 and use the Mann filter with the check valve every 4000 miles and no short trips. They will also run better if you put a hei igniton on it, get rid of the old tree trunk exhaust, and have someone swap out the cams for a longer duration set from dbilas for an alpine and changing the old cast iron rockers to the later aluminum ones. (punch someone in the face of they say they need to drill a hole in your firewall to do this). You will have gobs of low end torque and that sweet bastard v6 growl from hell. Just remember you will also need to update the driveline too.

Bought it few weeks ago, 437k km, works like a clock now that i have repaired CEM problems.

I had an s80 with the 2.9 and it was slow and awful

Mine is 2,8L with 2 turbos, so it is a bit higher spec than basic 2,9L.

Anyways this car is very comfortable to drive and has a ton of power if you need it.

It might not be a rocket at the start, but it still makes 0 - 100 in 7 seconds if needed.

Also S80 is more of an luxury sedan than drag monster, so it's not that big of an surprise that it does not fit for all gear heads.

Anyways i love it. It is silent & comfortable on normal driving, but goes like a ape and handles well if needed.

Done with forged internals, M56 conversion, catch can setup, 20t kinugawa turbo, new main and rod bearings, every single seal and rubber tubing is new as well as various tuneup things such as plugs, rotors etcetc. Custom tune by Beust tuning. Not done tuning yet due to some slight overfuelling issues, but it's getting there

Have done 6000km since rebuild and not a single breakdown, though minor issues appeared along the way. As stated earlier I'm fighting an overfuelling issue causing the ECU's Short term fuel trim to pull fuel out of the mixture. Luckily the car is perfectly drivable with it since its only off by -4%, though not egible for mapping untill it's solved sadly

You should try rapid inspect in irving, he is one of only two people I know who can work on my car, I tried to get southwest, but they said the owner sold the special tools long ago.

Rapid inspect always gives me good labor prices. Just look for Egar, he knows his shit. He did head gasket and timing chain at 1900 for everything, that was the cheapest price from anyone, and I don't think anyone could do it better.

Apparently the owner used to have a bertone, the tools it needs to take the heads off are a set of liner retainers. If you don't use them, a liner may dislodge and then you have to do a rebuild. Lots of other French motors are made the same way. It also helps to have their experience of doing this job before.
