The turbo cars would leak oil from the camshaft sensors. they would also blow the charg pipes off the intercoolers.
Cheap shit box is still cheap, and the cobalt itsself is ugly as fuck.

The SS used a shit Saab F35 transmission that had numerous shifter issues. Ironically, the Getrag F23 manual transmission used by base model Cobalts was stronger and didn't have any of the problems of the SS F35 tranny's. Some of the SS owners have actually taken to switching to the base model F23 transmissions.

There's a lot of meat there that can be ported off. porting and polishing the heads does WONDERS for the Ecotec's ability to breath. You can daily a bike. Never said you can't. It isn't practical though, which is why it's so uncommon. You have miniscule amounts of passenger/storage space (and you basically have to pick either a passenger or storage), and gear takes time and effort to apply and shed. It makes a lot of things impossible too: large grocery runs, moving anything oddly shaped or larger than a small dog, most typical dating scenarios, etc. And you sacrifice a lot of safety and comfort. And maintenance isn't the same, for instance, the oil change interval is about 5x shorter on bikes than cars.

I tried the bike DD thing last year. Shit does not make sense. It only works if the bike is a second vehicle, and you pretty much exclusively ride it on commuting to work and weekend joyrides. Which kind of makes the bike superfluous, especially if your transport budget is juat $10k.

I daily my 2015 Honda CBR300R but that's because it was a graduation gift from my parents and I don't have a car yet. Hopefully getting a 2005 Subaru WRX STI in the next couple weeks I can daily and have the bike for weekends, unless I decide to sell it. A lot of those things the OP didn't mention. Plus a lot of your post is just incorrect. You can have a passenger and storage on pretty much any bike with saddlebags/panniers and a top box. Plus for DD service a bike makes much more sense than a car aside from maybe being uncomfortable in the heat/cold/rain, and it's not like you are hauling a bunch of shit to work with you every day in a typical job. Maybe a lunch box and a change of clothes.

Aside from mx style dirt bikes I don't know any bikes that have that short of oil change interval.
