It's a kit. Comes with gauges, hoses, adapters and a thingy I can't remember the name that smooths out the vaccuum so the needle doesn't jump around as much.

Cost me 50€ for 4 of everything. Now that I think if it I should have bought a fancy one with mercury from the UK but overall this one doesn't look too bad.

Stepdad owns a lot of cars but I own none. Got an internship with decent pay for the summer. Stepdad knows I've wanted to buy a bike forever but insists I buy a car first (which I tend to think is a good idea, should really have something practical first).

Told stepdad I'm taking the motorcycle safety course my state offers in the beginning of June. The dmv waives a skills test for licensure if you take and pass the course. He took it too, said it was super easy and all the instructors are very nice.

Hanging out last night I tell him I intend to buy a car by the end of the summer. He tells me two things.
1. If I decide what I want and a really good deal comes along he'll cover the costs if I haven't saved enough to buy it. He always is shopping for cars and gets really good deals, last purchase was our '12 335i w/ 80k miles, he paid $8k otd. Dude knows his stuff.
2. If I buy a car I can use his bike as much as I want. He has an '07 GSXR 600 with 4K miles. Said he was looking to sell it but knows I was gonna buy a bike eventually so rather than us both getting ripped on the private market he'll just keep the bike around for me to have some fun. At least until I get my own.

In one summer I'm going from nocar to bike and car, and getting pretty tight with my stepdad.

He's taken me out and given me lessons on it before, I'm taking it slow. Definitely a machine worth of respect. He may end up selling it anyway for something closer to a street bike or standard cus he has a weak back and riding the curl gets uncomfortable for him pretty quick. He also knows I love the sv650n. It's me again

I bought a new H4 halogen headlight for my bike today.
Same problem as with the other one, when I turn the bike on the light doesn't work (whether on low or highbeam).
When I pull on the "PASS" lever the light goes on and the PASS beam lights up

specialized local mom/pop shop with rave reviews:

I feel like the 1st option is the best, but it is pretty expensive. It seems kinda fair for them to charge that if the mechanic's A-class and is being really thorough, taking the bike apart (and putting it back together), looking over everything and taking a test ride, itemizing any and all damage, and then listing the repairs and costs by priority. What do you guys think?

Normally they cut the power to the lowbeam when you turn on the high, and vice versa. I'd check there since your flasher button still works, since that means that electricity is getting supplied to the lights.

Nah, it's great. Italians especially have a thing for bikes and always give room for passing/splitting. The duck gets a lot of attention though. Suprisingly, it's not very common here.

The US mil in general just has huge "for your own good" boner for burying riders in safety bureaucracy. It's great and all for the brand new riders so they get trained first, but after taking 5 different MSF classes, that shit gets old.
