Super GT never started because the GT500s had copy paste physics from the team bb HSV 010, and apparently there is a new superGT mod in the making, Legends was "too hektik" and was only a """"spec series"""" according to a good amount that never participated. I'll agree that Von tried to pander to too many people and went overboard with the procedures. GT3 saw a meagre amount of drivers compared to the other 2 seasons and paul never intended to run it, but miscommunication meant no one was up to the task to run it. The ones who rent servers are ok with anything that happens, and hot version proved that. Maybe this saturday we should do something in good ol' factor, like DRM or Group A series or even just run the starking Super GT mod, without the condenscending greentexts.

This screenshot showcases the beginning of the modder modeling the engine with photoscans which is why he didn't really care about how the body looks
The reason why it looks like that is because of the reflections, which confuses the photoscan and therefore creates this rough model. You would need to have a non reflective car (either matte paint, plasti-dipped or in the case of how this guy did it, wrapped in paper)
There still are some slight inaccuracies because of the lens distortion, but that doesn't matter too much since he doesn't use the photoscanned model to import into the game but rather as a baseline to model around it, which is easier than having to model each part entirely by scratch (only with the use of a blueprint)

It's alright if you set the winch to accelerate and keep the rear truck on the gas most of the time, too. Beneficial for bogs and river crossings because whenever one gets stuck the other one usually gets going more easily and can push or pull the first truck out. Maybe I've even saved time over two trips.

Simply pulling the rear truck is impossible though, you'll never get out of second gear and have an empty tank halfway into the trip, and the C-4320 (rear) doesn't pull nearly as well as the C-255 (front).

Back when drawbar trailers weren't in the game yet I always tried these trips with two medium or two long log loads which made my turning circle catastrophic and usually ended up tipping over the rear truck in a tight turn. With the long log load and drawbar combination it's pretty easy, you just have to have a lead foot.

This is what I got out of it too, also the fact that participation numbers dwindled as the series was apparently too long. It's better to have short spec series so people don't get bored of it. 6 races or so would be optimal.

But running series really give no reward to the organiser, just takes a shit ton of time to do everything. Which is why I probably won't ever try to do another.

That being said, when people showed up for Legends, it was some of the funnest racing I've ever done with /ovg/, you were all fantastic.

If you're ok with emulating or hunting for a copy, try giving a shot to fast and furious tokyo drift. All the cars had a bunch of parts, and all of them were real products. There were minor additions too, like drift charms, led lights on the wheels etc. Bodykits were also available and engine swaps also were a thing, like giving the trueno/levin the formula atlantic 20 valve(same as the one from initial D, but with the normal rev range of 9000rpm), or putting a lightweight engine in the supra. I think it was the 3s-ge engine. Physics were ok but nothing outstanding.
I spent a lot of time playing that game.
