We did not go full hektik on black mountain pass since it literally looks like something out of initial d with cliff faces and long drops included. Going round a corner and the steering just gave out, went up the embankment to left and launched into the air. Did a full barrel roll and landed back on the wheels. Car died, me and the passenger escaped with just a couple of bruise and whiplash.

literally every fezza i've seen has 180k+ miles on it. Gf has a clio 1.5dci with 100k miles and it feels great to drive. Up your budget to more than £100, or go for a petrol engine instead. Old Fiestas are fairly bulletproof as long as the brake lines didn't rust through.
Check the badges for fading; if they've faded to shit, that end is original. If not, it's been bashed and repaired.

I wouldn't be that worried if I was you, it was a dodgy repair. It was flagged on an MOT last year when the last owner had it but apparently it had been fixed, clearly not.

I've not made a claim for it, I'm still pretty young and it's cheaper for me to blow my savings on it than claim for it and lose my no claims, which is bollocks, the insurance system at the moment is terrible. Luckily that model of civic can be picked up pretty cheap now and I had some money saved.

Well at least my steering isn't going to break, so that's something. That resale value going down is really hurting though, stuck with mine for at least another 6 months until insurance is up.

Started on the track putting fuel tanks and brake lines in XKs, weaseled my way into quality, had a few months on plant launch (sorting the myriad of manufacturing process issues out for new models) for the F-Type, then a few months on the track again stuffing radiators, engines, axles, exhausts, most shit, into more F-Types, before working my way into rectifying and now back to quality.

If anyone here by chance has experience at the CB site you'll be jelly to know I've never left A1/A2 (XK + F-Type) save for a couple of Christmases where I've been shipped out to D block (shittest place to work, fitting audio equipment in the boot of XFs), F block (exhausts, wipers, batteries and spare tyres into XJs) and I block (front calipers and disks onto XJ axles).

Being so young when I started I was high almost 24/7 too.

It's great desu although I'm starting to crave a different line of work. JLR take on people all the time so in case anybody here applies for trackside, all I can say is show you are competent with your hands and have some decent mathematical ability. I had been working on my Dad's cars with him since I was 10 so even being 18, the manual test of building a brake servo and pedal assembly was a piece of piss and I finished that shit quicker than anyone there, and I was the youngest by at least 10 years.
