No It's not.
Totally different designs. Nothing in common apart from the engine (the only one of clio's engines that fitted in twingo). 1st gen clio had torsion bars in rear suspension and used rectangular front subframe while twingo uses torsion beam on springs in the rear and one-part front suspension crossmember. Different floorpans. Twingo shares more interior details with megane and kangoo than with clio.

Not really. You're basically losing your "torks" by doing these, which means worse accceleration since the ovarall drivetrain ratio is uppered. (had a shitbox with oversize wheels myself). Not sure if you'll get any gain in top speed since you really just can't redline (>5500rpm) twingo on 5th.

+1. I was suprised at the quality of the original ones as well, especially at that price. There were a couple that needed to be fluffed up a lil by hand to get the perfect shape, but I think anon got a lot of detail for the money and is being too picky about the stiching and stuff.

Between the first generation and the facelifted 1998+ version, which twingo is best? I much prefer the 1st gen interior because it's much simpler and appears more minimalistic.
Is there any real difference between the two?

The 2000+ facelift introduced standard airbags, as well as some structural improvements and a new engine so I'd say that's the one to go for.

These two tests were conducted in different conditions. Earlier twingo hits solid wall while newer hits deformable barrier. There were safety improvements like side airbags and some strenghtening of doors of course but not that colossal as it looks at the pictures. Tldr: this pic is a meme.
