This. For hardly any more money you could get a 2011 with the 5.0 Coyote making 412 hp. The 2009 just has the 4.6 making 300 hp. It seems like a no-brainer.

It's literally the worst mustang to wrench on for performance value.
Put aside 20,000 dollars.
Build a Foxbody, an SN95, a 05-10 GT, an 11-13 GT and a 12-16 GT.
For 20,000 dollars, you most likely won't get an 11-16 GT and be able to mod it to any serious extent with the cash left over, so we'll cross those out.

A foxbody/SN95 will run you 5-7k at most, depending on what your criteria is. I put that number out because I like my cars well kept and taken care of, babied before I trash them.

That's 13,000-15,000 dollars to play with.
An 04-11 GT will run you on average 10-13k, maybe 15 if you're lazy and don't want to look for better deals.
That's only 5k to play with, on a more expensive aftermarket.

Tl ; Dr unless you're looking for a DD and absolutely HAVE to have this body style of mustang, the bang for your buck factor is much better with literally any other model.

Is that a good enough reason?

The tail lights are one of my favorite parts. They have a jewel-like look that I like. I thought about changing them to the LED 2013 style lights, but I don't think they would match the style of the rest of the car.

It depends, according to reviewes and motortrend, the v6 with the performance package does about 13.3 in the quarter mile, that's with the speed limiter though, and 5.1 in the 0 to 60 which is GT
territory.
The v6 is lighter and has almost as much HP albeit less torque, some light mods should put it above the GT while having better mpg. Also it can actually turn.
