Get a 280z, they're cheaper, newer, and look the same apart from the safety bumper which you can take off. Not a 280zx though, those look like ass.

Honestly, just save yourself the trouble and spend $5000 on aluminum oxide. Pocket the other $5000.

914 drives and handles like a VW (not that it is bad)

I have owned a 260z and own a 280zx currently. The ZX is a tad heavier, but it seems to handle better than my 260 ever did. Nothing wrong with them, just a few pounds heavier.
