I've got a question, /o/. I've saved up a little over 10 grand, and I want to buy a second car (2000 F-150 is my current DD). I want something import, 60's-70's, sporty, small, and something I can work on. I've been scrutinizing Craigslist and I've narrowed my choices down to two cars: the Datsun 240z & Porsche 914. Which one should I get?
>>
Get a 280z, they're cheaper, newer, and look the same apart from the safety bumper which you can take off. Not a 280zx though, those look like ass.
>>
Honestly, just save yourself the trouble and spend $5000 on aluminum oxide. Pocket the other $5000.
>>
914 drives and handles like a VW (not that it is bad)
280Z is the better option objectively

OP here. I've been considering the 280z as well, but I favor the 240 over the 280 for some reason.
>>

Yes

OP here, again. There aren't as many good listings on CL for 280z's as there are 240z's.

>Not a 280zx though, those look like ass.
horrible opinion here, but I honestly think the zx looks better than the z.
>>
>>14853218
I have owned a 260z and own a 280zx currently. The ZX is a tad heavier, but it seems to handle better than my 260 ever did. Nothing wrong with them, just a few pounds heavier.

Personally, I prefer the z to the zx. The z has more curves and is better looking overall.

A house
>>
>>14853218
I'm sorry but you have a terminal case of shit taste
>>
>>14853258
Already have one. 1700 sqft.
>>
>>14853268
Thanks, I'm sure you have shit taste aswell.
>>
>>14853251
>>14853268
Honestly, I'd like the z more if it just didn't have that front grille that looks like shit. Sharknose style looks silly though, so I don't really know what would actually work.
>>
>>14853279
I've always hated the grille too, but I prefer the sharknose over the straight nose.
>>
>>14853165
It's the bumpers. Like anon said they come off.
>>
>>14853351
I'm talking about how the hood/fascia of the zx is straight while the z is sharknosed. Not referring to the bumper.
