Maybe not as much now but it's still a lot of fun to drive.

If you can get over the fact that it's a Fiesta (which is generally the biggest complaint I hear about it) you'll like it quite a bit.
>>
yes, and the mods are fairly easy to get into.

Too small. Get a Focus.

Nice car man
>>14842685 and white hands.

I never really was hyped for the Fiesta myself as i thought it was just a nice little addition to what i really wanted which was the Focus ST. i got bang-on excited for that thing when it first released here and i never thought we'd get anything in the states named "RS" either.

Yes, the fiesta does live up to the hype. Sadly, the same can't be said for the corvette.
>>
Thinking of getting one as my next car with the Mountune 230hp kit.
>>
>>14842827
Unless things have changed, only the MP215 kit retains your factory warranty. There are better and cheaper ways to get that 230hp, though I do have several Mountune products on my car,
>>
>>14842731
but it's 20K mate, used about 17K and it will kick BRZ's ass in power and handling.

so will a minivan
>>
>>14842870
FWIW, the Focus ST1 costs pretty close to the exact same as a base Fiesta ST.
>>
>>14842685

I make hundreds of Ford keys a day (dealer locksmith), it always makes me smile seeing one in the wild thinking I might have handled it.
>>

put a shit eating grin on my face when i drove it. can't wait till i graduate college and land a decent job.

Probably the best new car on the market today for the cost.

It's real good fun. I enjoy it.
>>
>>14842685
How much did you pay OTD For the Fiesta? I'm in the market for buying one and just wondering how much people are paying for em
>>
>>14845188
Got mine a year and a half ago (November 2014) with every option (Recaro seats, moonroof, navigation) for $23.5k after TTD (so OTD). It's pretty close to the best deal I've seen, I think base ones are going for as low as $19k new OTD.
>>
>>14842870

and handling? The BRZ is renowned for it's handling and balance. You're comparing FWD to RWD which is apples vs oranges. Ones prone to understeer, the other oversteer and you can't compete when you can actually drift the BRZ.
>>
>>14845225
The Fiesta handles well enough that it would always be a drivers race stock for stock. But once you start modifying the car, the BRZ falls off hard.
>>
>>14845188
Got mine brand new in Nov 2015 a few days after thanksgiving. Dealership was having a thanksgiving sale and there were a shit ton of rebates for buying new at the end of the model year.

OTD my 2015 Fiesta ST was $16.5k. If you deal hunt and keep an eye on rebates, then purchase at the right time, these things can be had for insanely cheap.

I don't want to be that guy, but faster, better handling, more accepting of mods, and almost 10k cheaper than a toyobaru. Glorious Fieata ST.
>>
>>14845225
I agree with what this anon said >>14845233

I also want to share info about the FiST at you may not be aware of. It has a torque vectoring system that eliminates a vast majority of under steer. This is a system that's engineered extremely well and performs better than the similar system that Lexus puts on its 60+ thousand dollar cars.
>>
>>14842641
no. it's hyped way too hard by people who can't afford anything better
>>
>>14845249
>performs better than the similar system that Lexus puts on its 60+ thousand dollar cars.
considering the fact that Lexus doesn't make any $60,000 FF cars, I think comparing the systems is a stretch, they have similar operating principles, but the operation is different. It's like a double action revolver vs a semi automatic handgun, both go bang when you pull the trigger with no other action necessary, but the way they operate is different.
>>
It the hardest shilled car on /o/ thats for sure. I had this faggot trying to tell me that the FiST and FoST were the only fun FWD cars.

They seem to attract the same douchebag crowd as Subaru

>>14845249
>torque vectoring system that eliminates a vast majority of under steer
Like what the prelude had years ago?
>>
>>14845336
You've never driven them, it's clear to see.

They are shilled for a fucking reason, they are genuinely good cars for a decent price, yet you can't seem to understand that.
>>
I think most can agree it's a great noob tuner car for a young guy since it's turbo stock and cheap to run with the 1.6. Meaning your cheap basic breather mods and ECU tunes will gain an extra 50hp - 100hp for chump change.

However the 1.6 FWD aspect is it's biggest downfall since you'll spent a ton of money getting it to ~300hp power levels and then realise it's all peak hp and reached the limit of the engine. Then trying to actually put down that amount of power in a FWD and grip without wheel hop/other limitations.

It really needed a 2.0 Ecoboost to get it into the worthy territory since then you could surpass and go into the ~350hp - 450hp+ reliably, and RWD to handle that sort of power.
>>
>>14845336
I'd say the Focus ST crowd is more on the vapelord side, a lot of those guys came out of Mustangs when they had kids or switched brands with Ken Block or whatever. They also generally don't acknowledge the Fiesta (though plenty do too).

>>14845371
Your complaints are basically it's a Fiesta lol. If they gave it the 2.0 ecoboost no enthusiast would buy a Focus ST (unless they upped it to the 2.3 but now that's competing with the RS). Have people done FR in a hatch before? I haven't really looked into it much but that would be awesome.

I agree for the most part that it's a fine car for a first tuner, pretty easy to work on, easy to modify, cheap parts and cheap insurance. A lot of fun for what you get, but the upper limits of the platform aren't anywhere near stratospheric.
>>
>>14845225
no one drifts.
>>
>>14845336
t. Bus rider

Clear as fucking day that you've never had the opportunity to drive either of the cars for any period of time.
>>
>>14845336
The hardest shilled cars on this website, and pretty much every other, is the toyobaru.

Stay pleb.
>>
>>14845395

You're right, what I really want out of it is a Fiesta RS 2.0 AWD. That would be sweet as fuck. We all know the rumours are looking like a 1.6 fwd RS....sigh...It's horrible to think 0.4 of a litre can make such a difference on these 4 bangers.
>>
>>14845636
Dearheavenly gods abound, that would be the most glorious thing in existence. Though as I understood the most recent rumor mill, a FiRS is just not going to happen. If you have more recent info, please post it or a source if you can find thanks
>>
>>14845649
This is what I've heard, Fiesta RS has always been acknowledged as a dream for a few of the people within Ford. The only way I can see it happening is if they start importing 2-door Fiesta's from Cologne and there is a 2-door Fiesta RS model for the globe. 4-door Fiesta production is moving from Mexico to Thailand this year or next, I believe.

>>14845636
This is my dream too Anon, lightweight AWD with a power plant easily capable of 300/300 in a car under 3000lbs wet.

Test drove one when they first came out and I really liked it. When the dust settled, I ended up going with a low mileage AP1 S2000. Fast toward a few years later, I'm now in need of something more practical. Owning two vehicles is out of the question for me. The FiST is first on my list.

Haaaaaaah dude I sold my heavily modded ap2 with about 250,000 on the odometer. Only slight regrets because I was dearly in love with my s2k, but this FiST is amazing and doing a good job keeping me satisfied. Now if Honda put out a new s2k I would claw my way through a crowd of any size just to be e first one in line.

Also here, have a picture of the jeep I used to drive.

Damn, i've been looking at the base model no options and havent been quoted south of 21k OTD yet... Might just wait

If your answer is yes, you aren't an auto enthusiast. Shouldn't you and your buddies be polishing your brand new 3000 mile Fiestas at car shows while people are trying to look at actual, interesting machinery?
>>
>>14845831
haha, sure buddy. It's basically a modern EK3 Si from Ford. Also why would you pick a Fiesta if you're an attention seeking faggot?

Depends, are your testicles currently attached to your body or do they reside in the purse of a female?
>>
>>14845864
That's a loaded question, do whatever you want man. If you're really serious, test drive it. You'll probably cut your insurance by 2/3 with a Fiesta instead of a Vette.
>>
>>14845862
Actually given the grammar, butthurt and retarded sentence structure I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same guy
>>
>>14845773
Nice. I will absolutely miss this little S200 when the time comes. I'm thinking it will be this late spring or early summer when I take the plunge. Did you go for the Recaros? And what was your OTD price if you don't mind me asking?
>>
>>14845874
>>14845880
Yeah no one's pushing toward it, I've just always liked them, I really need to test drive one. Just hate putting miles on my vette and my DD is close to death. Vette insurance is fairly cheap but I bet feista would be a bit cheaper.
>>
>>14845903
You'll regret selling it, trust me on that. Why don't you just buy some $5k comfy shitbox for DD purposes and keep the Vette?
>>
>>14842641
>read about yuro ford in high school

>finally happens
>very excite-
>no coupe
>no
>coupe
Literally a lost sale.
>>
>>14845903
Drive it, they aren't very expensive. You honestly might be able to keep both, there's a ton of enthusiasts who DD the Fiesta ST and own huge power weekend monsters. They usually claim they are going to keep it stock until they are driving it every day and it slowly takes up more of their attention than their weekend car.

Your question came off a bit trolly, but if you're serious take one for a test drive or find someone in the area who will let you drive theirs.
>>
Yesterday I followed a white petrol Fiesta. Wasn't a ST but looked like someone worked on it. Lowered, rally style wheels, exhaust, probably remapped, etc.
That shit pulled as hard as my diesel Punto.
It actually looked really nice.
>>
>>14845911
Sucks they didn't bring the 2 door version here. They look slightly better, but let's be honest - a 4 door little hatch is much more practical than a 2 door. I may be in the minority here, but I think Ford made a good decision.
>>
>>14845911
When was the last time euroford even made a coupe?
>>
>>14845914
Oh yeah, if I had the means to I'd be dding a fiesta st right now. Just got alot going on as I'm sure most of you do, work, wife getting her masters, just trying to keep it all in perspective.
>>

also it is mostly hyped by people still in highschool
>>
>>14845937
>>14845955
0-60 is not the point of the car. Though it is decently peppy. The car shines in the turns. Simple as that.

Also, damn near every automotive journalist would like a word with you.
>>
>>14845902
I'm the guy from earlier in the thread that had the 16.5k OTD. I got the wheel/brake package option and that's it. Resale value for base model vehicles tends to be more stable than other trim levels because there's less artificial inflation/depreciation from the extras. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep it when I first bought it, I'm one of those assholes that gets a new car every couple years (the one exception being my s2k). As it is, I enjoy the fuck out of my FiST and will probably hold on to it and mod it a little later down the road.

If you're waiting for spring/summer, keep an eye on rebates and look for a good 4th of July sale if you're in the USA. Otherwise, wait until the end of the year holidays and purchase then. The 2016 model looks like it will be the last before the major facelift and chassis restructure that seems to be slated for 2017. Only time will tell on that final factor, but if you're waiting until summer anyway you might get some more info on the 2017 that will help you make up your mind.

If they do proceed with the changes and push them out for the 2017 Fiesta ST I can absolutely guarantee you that dealerships will slash their prices on top of ridiculous rebates.
>>
>>14845937
Find me a new 4cyl under 20k that does it faster.
>>
>>14845967
That's because I don't get a check from Ford or get a "special" price like that fat bastard matt.
>>
>>14845922
Yeah they look crisp as fuck in white. I got mine in black but I always wrap my cars to protect the factory paint because I'm completely fucking autistic about knicks and chips in my paint.

Like super duper high tier autism.
>>
>>14845988
Was white with OZ Rally Asfalto like wheels (maybe they were legit).
Looked really good.
>>
>>14845983
You don't need to be an automotive journalist to get an amazing price on these, just learn how to work around dealer markup. Helps to keep in mind that there are dealers everywhere and if one doesn't want to sell to you for 18k, another elsewhere will. I usually shop online and browbeat their online sales people into super low quotes, then take the quotes to competing dealers and tell them to beat it. They usually do because they want the money

For the sake of arguing, you might be able to get an ecoboost mustang or a Focus ST very close to that price, and each are quicker 4 cylinder cars, though not nearly as good in the turns of course.

>RSX Type S is faster, cheaper, and handles better

29k MSRP
10+ years old
3 more horsepower
50 less torque
slower standing 1/4 mile
slower top speed
only capable of a .86g on a skid pad
takes 30 more feet to stop from 70
no torque vectoring
60 lbs heavier

Tell me again how that fits the criteria of anons post? It's seriously retarded to talk out of your ass these days when everyone has a pocket supercomputer and can fact check your bullshit in less time than it takes for an RSX to finish the 1/4 mile
