What cars aside from the Geo Metro and Honda Civic can get this much gas mileage?
>>
>>14841971
Suzuki Alto
>>
Chevy Cruze Eco
>>
crx, honda insight
>>
>>
My stick shift neon got 40 mpg a couple times in really ideal conditions.
>>
>>14841971
Stick volkswagen TDI's
>>
>>14841971
Prius without an issue and the CVT transmission is excellent for higher highway speeds without a major hit in economy. Mirage also has this mileage
>>
Daihatsu Charade, Ford Aspire/Festiva, Plymouth Sundance/Dodge Shadow, Toyota Tercel...

Provided you got them in the stick variant, they really did get 40+ mpg. The 90's was the decade that "stripper cars" started to end, though there were still companies putting out high mpg econoboxes.
>>
>>14841971
Datsun B210
1.2L of absolute fury
>>14841741
>>
Fiat 500 but I can't imagine you would enjoy driving the way you'd need to to see that.
>>
>>14841971
If you limited yourself to 45-55mph(depending on the car, gearing etc..) plenty of econoboxes from the last 20 years could hit 40mpg. I got 39.4mpg in my '09 Focus which is only rated at 24/35/28

>>14842032
>crx
I've owned 2 '91 Si's, never broke out of the 30s. A HF or DX could, but those are painfully slow.
>>
>>14842172
>2 91 si crx which are 1.6 liters
>obviously HF would because it means "high fuel economy (1.5liter)
i currently get 35.5mpg in my 2015 civic lx 5 speed i commute to work 41 miles one way and i still think thats bad for a brand new ish civic

Ford Fiesta Eco Boost ~43mpg

Stage 3 that Fuckin One Liter, A larger intercooler and a tune. 200tq 133hp easy.
>>
>>14842647
how much mileage could you pull if you tried for it?

i thought bikes could suck fuel as bad as a typical car if you drove them hard
>>
>>14842689
Heh, that's the ST pictured, but yeah the SFE Fiesta with the 1.0L 3 cylinder ecoboost engine is one of my dream cars. Make sure it's a manual though.
>>
>>14842694
Depends on the type of bike. If you just want mileage, get a Ninja 300 and it'll get amazing mileage no matter how you ride it. Plus little bikes are crazy fun

Even auto ones can get that, at least the newer ones.
>>
>>14842725
With a 300 you'll get anywhere from like 55-70mpg.
Or if you go to the literbike side of the scale, say a ninja zx10, you'll most likely get closer to around 40 or 45mpg (Which is about what I get on my 600, riding the shit out of it)
>>
>>14842725
inline 4 600's are usually 30mpg if you beat it on track day style, or 45 mpg if you baby it.

A 1000cc will get about ~30-40mpg depending on how you treat it. But then again you are going almost as fast as a Porsche 918 for about $10k.

Bigger than the engine, the less MPGs.
>>
>>14842759
Also on a 1000cc literbike, unless you baby it and have amazing willpower to not enter 2fastmode, you'll realistically get closer to 30mpg
>>
Lexus CT

I'd say good luck getting any pussy in one, but this is 4chan so that shouldnt be an issue :^)
>>
>>14841971

A Fiero with a 400 degree intake.
>>
>>14842785
V twins usually get a little more mpg than their inline bretheren. FZ-07 will get about 50-60mpg. Granted, they will have less horsepower.
>>
>>14842759
>>14842761
>baby a 600 and get 45mpg
>drive it hard and get 45mpg

im trying to understand
>>
>>14842769
Motorized bikes do 100+ easily
>>
>>14842785
Yep, good luck finding a car that can go 0-60 in 3 seconds and get 30mpg... Especially for the price range. Motorcycles basically win in every category
>>
>>14842799
Remember it depends on the bike you have, and the way you ride it. Personally, I have a Bandit 600 and get about 40mpg if I'm not trying to take it easy.

Or 200+ mpg with aero mods and gearing.
>>
>>14842817
If you ride that you have to be careful not to drown in so much pussy
>>
>>14842799
There are lots of fuccbois out there that think they ride their bikes "hard".

My CBR F4i gets around 8L/100kms just riding normally around town. Strapping it up the mountain it goes to around 10L/100km.
My Bandit 1300 got about 8 cruising, about 12 thrashing.
But re: the Bandit; I rode it pretty gently rev-wise even when thrashing, any time I was over 8 grand on that thing I didn't feel like I was *entirely* in control of the situation.
My GPX250 did about 4.5/100 no matter what you did, it was great. Big tank on it, too.
>>
>>14842860
>>14842811
seems to be a lot more variation with bikes than there is for cars

either way 2 wheels is better than 4

I have both! I can get 36mpg driving around in 100% city like a mad cunt in the crx which has a d16a1 engine swap.

the honda insight is automatic and gets 42mpg in 100% city driving.

desu if you drive your gas guzzler a lot it sucks spending all that money on gas ;_;

They only make them in 5spd manual.

I drive a Fiesta ST and my gf drives a Fiesta SFE. Her SFE is stupidly fun and gets amazing mpg. I would absolutely love to kit up her car lol

You are aware we RACE motorcycles on dirt too, right?

You hit all kinds of pebbles and shit on street bikes. Even at 200mph, it is of no consequence.

So hype, just fixed the fucked up tail lights and put the air filter back on, shit is amazing.
How the fuck can it get 40mpg though it's so heavy.

Posting glorious 240

Believe me, it's possible. Had one a couple of years ago (82-84 DL, i forget the year) that pulled it.

Depending on gearing, it has a very good chance.

No one ever believed me, but I got 40 with this truck. It was a Detroit 6-71 with a 10 speed with an 80s k30 mounted ontop.

You have the 1.8 1zz? I've got an 05' with the 5spd and get about 42 city 47 highway. The car is the basest they come and stripped with the lowest rolling resistance tires I could find.

>>14844449
yep the 1ZZ
only option is the AC
200% boring
MAD MPGs
>>
>>14844459
If my engine ever blows (unlikely), i'm set on trying to find a 2zz to drop in from a celica gt-s, that should make it a bit more exciting.
