As much as I love shitposting and false flagging on this board, I'd like this to be a serious thread. The design philosophy behind these 3 cars is very far removed from the rest of the worlds sports cars, so hearing some foreign perspectives on them would be interesting.

How do Euros honestly feel about the Challenger/Mustang/Camaro?
>>
Aussie here, even by our standards they're bloated and fuckin heavy. The blind spots look like absolute crap, and I've never actually seen any of those cars being driven quickly well.
>>
>>14821852
Most people don't even know they exist.
>>
froggie reporting it
People here either :
-don't really know about it since Dodge and Mustang have pretty much no presence whatsoever due to limited number of sellers and high import prices, and Chevrolet are just now starting to become a somewhat not-unusual sight. Thus they tend to think they are just regular sport cars except for americans and by americans.
-know what they are, sort of, and find them very unpractical and unappealing due to high fuel consumption and overall not being the best choice considering how our roads are (too heavy to drive well on D and N roads, Autoroutes/highways are constantly curving. Can't use them to "race to the red light" since our cities either don't have long straight strets or have permanently convested long straight streets). It doesn't help either that this category covers actual sport cars enthusiasts who will rather jump straight to an italian or a german one, Probably in lack of a proper local option.

The Mustang and Camaro belong in the conversation, they seem to have finally found a decent formula, assuming the Camaro fixes it's windows in it's next refresh it should be great. The latest generation of Mustang is an all time great version of an iconic American sports car that has taken a huge leap away from drag racing and into road racing.

The Challenger I don't really care for.
>>
You should ask Europeans about guns and baseball too OP, they are sure to have an interesting and informed opinion
>>
Not euro but aussie. We only get the challenger and camaro as grey imports here and the mustang is sold out anywhere you go. By the time you pay tax and drop 30k on a RHD conversion the other 2 owe you about 100k AUD. Nice cars but not worth the money IMO. The mustang on the other hand at 60k for GT seems very reasonably priced. If i had that kinda dough and wanted a new car its probably what id buy.

But in this country the ultimate bang for buck is JDM. Theres just too much of it and its just so damn cheap
>>
>>14821924
Challenger is definitely a different approach than the Maro and Mustang. Those two are in a performance pissing contest, and have become like other modern sports cars because of it.

The Challenger is more like a classic muscle car. It doesn't give a shit about weight savings or magnetic shocks or whatever, just about drag races off the lights, showy burn outs, and cruisingly comfortably for long distances.

>I'd like this to be a serious thread
>Challenger/Mustang/Camaro
>Euros

I don't see that happening much to be honest.

There was another thread like this awhile ago wanting a "serious" discussion on these cars and there isn't much that they can say since most of them haven't even seen one in person and what little they may know comes from Top Gear so the few things they can say besides looking at reviews from euro-magazines and repeating what the reviewer said is comment on their appearance and spout memes they heard and maybe thought to be true.

>I love shitposting and false flagging

Great, at least you won't be disappointed when you get it.
>>
>>14821973
Maybe, but the 11-14 Mustang GT felt more muscular to me.
>>
>>14821924

I agree the Challenger is a different beast altogether. It's a big stupid boulevard cruiser, built for looking cool and burning tires. I think they're awesome but they're not really comparable with the Mustang and Camaro.
>>
even though im a murican ill put my opinion in there because fuck you. im a huge GM fanboy, but i like the Mustang way better than the Camaro, although the Camaro is a close second. Id prefer an LS motor but the looks of the Mustang are just so much better. Challenger is in nthe middle with looks but weighs a metric fuckton so id never own one.

What do Europeans think about vintage American freedom-mobiles?
>>
>>14822157

I see what you're saying but doesn't the new one and the 11-14 share the same coyote motor? My reason for the 11-14 for feeling more muscular would be that it has the older style suspension and thus is more connected to it's roots and what it used to stand for. Meanwhile the new Mustang seems as if it was built more for the world market, which they're doing.
>>
>>14822214
Yes I believe they both have the 5.0 Coyote, but the 15+ models all have an independent rear suspension which is way worse for drag racing.

60s landbarges are pretty neat-looking, you could get away with driving one but two or three problems remain
>drinks more fuel than its driver drinks soda
>try parking this anywhere or drive it in any city that didn't get the Hausmann treatment
>have fun finding parts to repair it
That said they are probably a lot of fun to cruise in on some long empty road on a sunny day , which is easier to du in the US than anywhere in the EU.
I'll stick to my DS baguette-mobile
>>
>>14822210
The largest American classic car show is in Sweden, m8. They LOVE American land barges.

>>14822248
And that's why a lot of them have a CNG conversion.
>>
>>14822233
Also, looking at the 2016 Cobra Jet, they actually kept the solid rear-axle (only Mustang being sold that way in 2016):

Most of them have a god-tier style.

Tons of torque is pretty cool, dat sound.

Yet, feeling like you are driving a rolling anvil on european roads is both challenging and risky.

But aside from the glorious V8 roars, they feel quite sluggish on stock suspensions. Vintage Trans-AM is still one of the most badass series, since the cars are awesome and they are not very far from the stock facotry design.
>>
>>14822210
I don't think societies used to seeing the rolling shoeboxes that are Benz W123s would have any problems with it; hell, I know that I would really appreciate the wholesale import of the 80's era rectangular box Lincoln Town Cars, I always loved that styling.
>>
There's an American import dealership a block from my house in Italy, I used to go there as a kid (late 90s-early 00s) and gawk at all the sick muscle cars and fuckhuge GM trucks. They even had a police Crown Vic and two Dodge Vipers

Asian cars are actually pretty common, my neighbour has a Ssangyong SUV for fucks sake. People here buy mostly Asian or German, and of course there's a flourishing underwood of Puntos and Pandas and 30 year old Lancias
>>
In Japan those Americans Muscles are pretty rare but that doesn't mean they don't exist and I've actually seen especially Mustangs and Corvettes several times on the streets.
Here, displacement is the biggest key on the annual car tax and if it's bigger, then you should pay more (though I think that is the case everywhere in the world) and you own like 5000 cc car, you should pay over 1k usd every year.

By the way, Ford had announced recently that they would withdraw from Japan in 2016 which makes me a litte sad because I remember I saw more of them back in 90's. Actually when browsing /o/, I find Focus/Fiesta seem to be very popular overseas but I personally never seen them even once in my whole life

Here in Norway any car like that younger than 30 is pretty much non-existent due to the insanely high taxation on powerful cars, but there are way more of them 30 years or older as the taxation drops by a huge amount, making them reasonably affordable by normal people

Still, they aren't all that popular. People seem to be more into Cadillac boats, Buick Electras and similar cars, or they go for old Mercs and BMWs in the old luxury/performance department. Even still, these "markets" are way smaller than what it is for cars like the old VW Beetle, Ford Escort, old Opels and so on that people like to collect, restore and tune

Challenger (any generation) I have perhaps only seen twice on norwegian plates. Camaro is slightly more common, but not something you'll see every year. Mustang is a much more popular car, usually around the late 60's to very early 70's. Still haven't seen a current generation, even after they started officially selling it through dealerships here

Pick one. The most recent muscle cars were the previous CTS-V and the Marauder.
