Is it possible to outrun the cops?
>>
>>14807748
Yes but not a radio
>>
>>14807748
On a fast motorcycle with a good rider
>>
>>14807751

doesn't even require that much skill if terrain is right.

Build buffer space. Turn of lights. Take first exit with overpass.

Hide.

Give em the slip.
>>
>>14807748
You can outrun the cops but not the law. Once a helicopter gets you in its sights you're done. Once they have your plate you're done.
>>
Depends on a lot of factors. Strictly being faster isn't the main factor.

You see a lot of high speed chases played up in the media. Typically, as soon as the public is being endangered, they will call off the chase. Having a car being chased kill 10 people is not worth 1 arrest. They are instructed to keep public safety #1. If there's no helicopter and you know the roads well enough, you could get away. They'll take your plate.
>>
>>14807748
Yeah bro haven't you seen Toyko Drift?
>>
Cops will typically tail you to run your plate before disco lights come on. They getting craftier doods.
>>
>>14807849
>>14807832
>>14807840
Just drive around without a plate.
If they come after you for it, run.
>>
Yea you gotta just camp in a tunnel for a few minutes until your stars go away
>>
>fit a decent camera capable of ir night vision
>an ir led light bar
>a kill switch for all lights
>fit it to something fast and hope the local police helicopter is busy doing something else
>>
>>14807888

I've heard of a guy that went across Canada coast to coast in ~23 hours doing something like that. He had a M5 with military grade night vision and a plethora of jammers. He pulled a pretty stupid average speed. Pretty much a jail / I dgaf run but I think he pulled it off.
>>
>>14807977

I think ive seen that article. They had pictures of the inside of his car and he had like 6-7 jammers and detectors with a laptop and all this other jaz. I think his average speed was like 110-120 or something like it.
>>
>>14807977
>>14808040
There used to be stories of drug runners using IR lights and night vision goggles to dodge the police but who knows how true they actually are lol
>>
>go anywhere with a parking lot
>take pictures of plates of similar cars to yours
>print them out and paint it over with reflective paint
>just needs to look close enough
>put the fake thing over your real plate
>>
>>14807888
NV cameras use a infrared flash to light up ahead, it will be picked up by the helicopter's own NV camera like if you were driving with your hazards on
>>
>>14808105
They'd see you with their thermal camera anyway. I have no suggestions on how to evade a helicopter other than by going so fast you can outrun it.
>>
>>14808121
electric car maybe?
>>
i was watching a police interview recently that said in 18% of police pursuits the suspects get away. so pretty much 1 in 5
>>
>>14808128
Pretty sure the motors still chuck out a tonne of heat.

I guess some smart fucker could design a little laser pointer turret that could target and blind the cameras/pilot forcing them to retreat, but idk if that's feasible.
>>
>>14807748
Not in the sense of "a cops' on my ass flashing his sirens talking to me on a loudspeaker I can get off scott-free" and more of the sense of "I just flew by him at 120 mph on a deserted freeway ; he's in a CVPI, so it'll take him atleast 5~ seconds to even to to 60, 10 or more to start topping 100, assuming he has already radio'd relevant info. I can get away." kind of deal.
>>
>>14807849
That's why you need to make a decision to run before they pull out or turn around when you knowingly speed past them.

Old school hiphop doesn't lie, you've got about 1 second to plan your route and whether or not you're going for it or not, because once you start you better be damn sure you're committed to getting away since you've just piled on every charge you're going to get from running on top of what would have been a speeding ticket.
>>
>>14808121
>how to evade a helicopter
laser pointer, they'll land.
bet you money on it.
>>
>>14808260
enjoy federal pound me in the ass prison if they ever get you though.
they take laser pointers really seriously.
>>
>>14808275
Well I mean we're talking about evading a police helicopter.
Federal prison is kind of already the destination.
>>
>>14808294
Lasers get the FBI involved. 20 years is a possibility.

t. ex student pilot
>>
>>14808303
That's great and all. I'm not advocating the use of lasers to bring down air support.
I am throwing it out there as a way to get a police helicopter out of the air, which was the question and had the anon seemingly stumped.
Based on your replies, I'm correct in assuming it'd work.

Get a fast motorcycle, a rider with knowledge of the streets to the point where you can navigate with only streetlights, and you can get away pretty much 70-80% of the time. If there's a helicopter, and you can't duck out through a tunnel or something, you're fucked.

>>
Europoor here and I've never seen a police helicopter on duty in my 20 years of existence. Are they that common in the US?
>>
>>14808577
Only in metropolitan areas of 500,000+, which there are a lot of in America. Otherwise, no copters no worries I've ran from the cops plenty.
>>
>>14808577
depends on local PD/funding.
every large city (read, population over 500k, also southern border towns because lolmexicans) has atleast one helicopter in service.

I live in Dallas, Texas. I've seen a police helicopter shine spotlights in my neighborhood twice, about a year ago.

Add that to the fact that news copters will pick up and hone in on you to make a story, and will inform police of your whereabouts.
You know, basic stuff.

>>14808488
Easily granted desu, if a news copter can get permission within a few minutes you can assume police in pursuit would have informed them ahead of time.
Watch a few police chases, american newscasts preferably to see examples.
LA's a good place to start.
>>
>>14808577
The Met police in London put a helicopter up for every car chase, and most of the other police forces do too here

If you did what he said you'd be fucked if they checked the plate number anyway, unless you managed to copy the plate of a car identical to yours.

There's an easy solution anyways. Steal plate from one car, put plate from a different car onto that one. Owner of car #1 won't notice that shit, and when owner of car #2 reports their plate stolen, it's not on your car. By the time someone is looking for car #1's plate, you should have whatever illegal activities you were planning done, and the plate tossed in the river.

police helicopter flight officer here. our helmets have a few visor options. one of which is anti laser. most crews have them now. basically, all a laser does now is pinpoint where you are. good luck. want to get away from a helicopter, drive far and fast in the one direction.

Not really, I'm fairly certain in several places they actually have to catch you to ticket you. If they do get your plate and can get away you can always claim you weren't driving.

>gun it, weaving around small neighborhood streets that i know extremely well (lived here my whole life)
>can see him coming after me on longer straights, got some good distance on him
>i have way better acceleration speed and confidence in where i'm going
>eventually make it back to my place
>luckily have a garage remote, open garage, park that shit and close it as fast as i can
>back in my house, go upstairs, make sure all the lights inside are off
>see police cruiser slowly go by my house, stop in front for a minute, then continue on

was easily the most intense shit of my life and surprisingly a ton of fun. felt awesome using my knowledge to school some fat cop. literally shaking typing this out just thinking about it
>>
Ghost Rider has managed to consistently outrun the cops in Sweden in all his movies. It required:

- Law that says that a driver/rider must be caught in the act to be faced prosecution.
- Riding a bike/driving a car without any plates that is never used on a regular basis with plates on, stored in a secret garage. (it's probably easier with a bike since you can transport it inside a van)
- You must use a helmet with sun visor so they can't see your face while in the act.
- You must never get caught.
- The cops shouldn't have any reason for overdoing their attempts to catch you. In Stockholm, there was an incident where the cops killed a fleeing motorcyclist in a crash, which caused a huge stir in the media. This is often cited as the reason why the police didn't pool all their resources to catch ghost rider.
>>
>>14810627
CVPI's can't go above 130.
LEO's aren't allowed to drive beyond 100 where I live (Florida). So a fast bike that can break LoS and disappear very well can evade the police.
Traffic's too bad for it to be possible with a car, though.

Im a brit. so Im not 100% sure about police chases, but is one of the commentators sitting in the news helicopter or are they both at the news desk?
>>
>>14809920
lmao that stupid faggot kept slowing down on the straights. Probably a v6.
>>
Maybe, but if they catch you they're going to Fuck You Up. And then the judge will take sloppy seconds.

Seriously, unless you just raped the babysitter you're generally better off pulling over and having bantz with the cops. Even a suspended license is better than being beaten and tossed in jail.

But yeah, I've outrun a cop once. But he was going the other way with median and I was lucky enough to be able to pull into a driveway behind a huge hedge. I've also been pulled for 25mph over the limit, but went out of my way to make life easy for the cop and chat him up. I got a warning.

Yesterday:

>hooning in the streets at 2am because I'm a stupid cunt
> two lane, two way long slight left over long crest that limits visibility to around 20m
>limit of 40km/h doing 100km/h (at least)
>coming up on speed triggered light
>"lets try and beat that red light sensor"
>as I crest the road notice light was already red
>cop car sitting on the other lane facing my way
>ohwell.jpg
>floor it
>road straightens out and ends in a roundabout
>catch a glimpse of flashing blue on my rear view
>take first exit through side street and almost get sideswiped in the next intersection by an Audi A4 Quattro station
>turn behind him
>he goes through one red light and stops at the next
>stop next to him
>race off on green
>at the next roundabout we go our separate ways

Fun and retarded night
Oh, and this is the cop car I saw so I wasn't even mildly worried.

At the news desk if it's a live stream, usually. If it's live on TV though, it's usually someone in the chopper.
>>
>>14807748
yes unless they send the chopper on you in which case you're fucked
>>
>>14807751

You don't need a motorcycle. A fast car will do it no prob.

España? 112 was the emergency number when I lived in Spain.

yes but only certain ones, and mostly at night.

Yes at night and they are at a stop or driving the other way and they didn't get your plate.

És tu o anão do Alfa?
>>
If in a car, it has to be quick and lucky. Time is not on your side. The key is not let the police get tag info, identifying info on who was driving, etc...
>>
>>14812996
They didn't make it, you can hear towards the end when he says "The cop is at the next exit, he's waiting for us." Something along those lines, also him saying "We're fucked" over and over at the very end.
Rob gets in and out of shit like that all the time.
>>
In this case, I'd say outrunning and evading are two different things, maybe not according to the law, but practically. It's a lot easier to evade the police that to outrun them.

One time I successfully evaded a cop at night after he lit me up. I was close to home and managed to get to my garage by driving with my lights off for about a mile or so.

It was easily the most retarded thing I've ever done in my life, especially considering he was just gonna pull me over for speeding. I'd go back and kick the shit out of myself for doing that if I could.

Unless you know owner #1 notices first lmao
>>
>>14809151
In my state it's illegal.

Hell even in commiefornia it's illegal. A cop seized 1 million in cash from a stripper because it was suspicious and was ordered to return it.
>>
>>14808079
South Carolina plates don't even have the numbers stamped, it's just printed on the aluminum plate. A fucking sticker will do. Or just get a vanity plate with a random combo of 8's and B's

Everyday dumbshits won't have much luck, but organized auto theft rings are pretty good.

News stations in Yurop tend not to have their own dedicated helicopters that can go at a moments notice, especially now drones are a thing for most aerial shots. The only way to see police chases here is months/years later when the police release their own footage.
>>
>>14807748
cant beat them drones mang

>>14815650
Here in the U.S., most police forces barely fucking bother to encrypt their operations channels and feeds. If you had a spectrum analyzer and a pension for arrest warrants you could just drive to Miami, record anything you can get, and try not to get caught.

It could be legally and realistically achieved by throwing a few thousand dollars every month at an FCC executive/active police departments to get them to sign release forms, then see about getting a local public access channel or streaming the videos online.

A fast bike outpaces a helicopter easily and the helicopter will be out of fuel in about 10 minutes if it tries to go top speed to keep up.

not that I know of. ive some of those wicked laser videos though so Im not sure if you were real close to one with one of those if you might get a result, but a hand held unit being pointed at a helicopter, no, not going to happen.

>tfw you will never 0wn the official cyber caliphate
>>
>>14815894
yes a fast bike will out pace a helo, but helos dont have afterburners or anything. we have about 2 hours of fuel flying at max performance or 2 hours and 20 minutes of typical flight.
>>
>>14807748
Probably. Authorizing a pursuit is risky business, so unless the cops hate you or you just killed someone/robbed a store/pushed over grandma as she was crossing the street, it's unlikely they'll pursue for long. You can bet your ass that Sgt Mc Piggy is going to chase you for as long as he's can before he's told to call it, but if you're brave, have enough space in front of you, have a fast enough car to avoid a visual inspection in the event they get your plates and need proof that someone who looks like you was driving, then you can possibly get away.

Reminds me of stories I've read from old bootleggers. They'd wire up switches to cut out their brake lights, and run from the cops on roads like that.

>Cop sees no brake lights before tight corner
>Assumes you didn't brake
>Tries to do the same thing
>Off the road and into the woods
>>
>>14815393

I have the DVD. They did make it. They managed to hide behind a big rig as they passed the cop, took the exit, and hid.

honestly with all the cameras and shit cruisers have now it's almost a sure thing they can get your plate so even if you do outrun them you'll still be fucked. of course you could try running a fake plate but that could just end up being the reason you get chased in the first place

if they get the chopper on you you're pretty much completely fucked and might as well just pull over and hope they take it easy on you for not dragging it out
