Could this be a meme car if it was RWD?
Why is it not RWD in the first place?
This car is the definition of what a coupe should look like.
Are there any owners of these on this board?
>>14801117
Reporting in, honestly theyre ok.
Was my first car until it was hit by a dump truck whilst at a rest stop
>>14801117
rwd does not a great car make
look at the monte carlo
>>14801129
Rwd Montes were fangelasctic!
>>14801117
The convertibles are meme cars though.
>>14801117
>This car is the definition of what a coupe should look like.
No, because of ugly ass. Bertone still did a gret job.
This is a proper coupe's example
>>14802136
>>14802138
But stupid Opel didn't make RWD version.
>>14802124
For some reason I really like the look of these when the front wheels are caked in brake dust.
>>14801117
>This car is the definition of what a coupe should look like
I disagree
>>14801117
Coupe should look like this.
>>14802136
>>14802138
>>14802146
Okay this is also a very good looking coupe, I like it but it looks like Bertone took Calibra's design and took it a little bit further, improving perfection. It really sucks that they didn't make a RWD or even an AWD version.
>>14802203
>>14802259
These are both really nice looking cars but the Astra Bertone is a step ahead of them IMO.
>>14802259
406 Coupe looks like pure sex.
>>14802528
At least the Calibra got an AWD version.
>>14801117
Eerily similar to my '05 Civic EX coupe.
>>14802203
Hello Ali. Nice to see you enjoy live in germany.
Looks like the designer took the rear light design from the 8 series (which is also one of the sexiest coupes ever)
>>14802712
Fuck off VAG Fag
>>14802741
I meant this cars rear lights>>14802146
>>14801117
>Why is it not RWD in the first place?
GM being retarded as always
>>14802259
>>14801117
Owned both, 406 was sexier, astra was more fun to drive
>>14801117
I think the Astra looks better as a hatch.
>>14802136
>>14802138
>>14802146
Too bad these are ruined by boiracers and shitty bodykits.
>>14802751
you just can't sell a RWD in europe if you're not Mercedes or BMW
>>14802203
e36 was pure perfection. Anything else is shit
>>14802804
I love the e36`s looks as well. But the E46 is objectively superior in every category.
>>14802741
Yes, everything good originated with BMW. Of course.
>>14802812
like?
It's an Astra, why the fuck would it be rear wheel drive?
Modern (90s+) coupes are mostly pig disgusting looking. The Calibra and 406 kinda pull it off, the rest posted here not so much.
>>14802826
That`s literally what all of my friends said when saw the 8 series rear end, lol
>>14802836
Performance, comfort, safety. Looks are subjective
>>14802846
>implying you need RWD
>>14802860
>safety
faggot
>>14802846
>posts a rwd "astra".
>>14802888
At least the calibra was actually available with 4wd
>>14802860
>Performance
not so sure
>comfort
I'm cool with the e36, but some friends adapted the e46 interior into their 36
>safety
you mean if you crash?
i actually own this car in orange/gold... I wish it was RWD

The E46 M3 is faster than the euro spec E36 M3 EVO 3.2 321hp and much faster than the US spec E36 M3.
I drive an E36 sedan and my E46 sedan occasionally, the e36 seats are fine but it`s the interior build quality and sound insulation that really makes the difference. The E36 interior also seems to squeak and rattle everywhere.
By safety I mean that the E46 has actual decent working traction control and crashes are more survivable.
The only objective upside of the E36 is that it`s lighter.
Don`t get me wrong an E36 M3 is still one of my bucket list cars though
>>14802985
ever have to get replacment panels? non of them are the same colour, had a mate with 4 diffrent shades of orangygold
>>14803003
P.S i have owned 3 E36`s and 2 E46`s, currently own an E46 and bought an E36 for my gf
Owned a lot of Calibra's. Love the shape.
You can convert the 4x4 to rwd. The axle exist and the diff is from a commodore so can take some power.
Got a 3.0 V6 with ITB's now
And a Zafira A OPC for daily.
>>14803003
I can't talk about the m3's, those are way over my budget. But in the regular sedan, I still think that a well prepared 2.8 e36 is better than its e46 equivalent, mostly because weight and the more modern technology that doesn't allow you to modify it like with the e36. But I can be wrong.
Yes, the interior is cleraly better in the e46, but I just like the old style. And sound insulation is not really a problem to me. That could change some day, though.
>>14803035
sorry, not sedan, coupé.
>>14801117
what is it?
>>14803035
A stripped E36 328i can indeed outrun a stock E46 330ci, been tested.
A stripped e46 coupe is still light weight (sub 1400kg`s) and you can do the same modifications with an E46 (intake/exhaust manifolds, different throttle bodies etc) because the early E46s actally shared the same engines with E36`s. The latter M54 engined e46`s are not much different except for the electronic throttle body.
>>14801117
Had Astra for a first car, was bretty quick and weighs under 1t. I thought the same thing how great would it be if it's rwd. But it would kill the purpose of that car, being a cheap point to point commuter car.
