so what are some reasonable daily driver models to look into. my budget is 4-8k usd. a sedan, hatchbacks would be ok. I'm in ca so it's mostly sunny, no terrible weather but lots of traffic. prefer a good mpg.
what are some good car models I should look into? I'm begining my search but I need a list of good cars to pick from.
So far I have
-civic si
-mazda 3
-ford focus
-toyota camery

You could probably get an '02-04 WRX within your budget. I dislike them due to the "community", but you get a small, AWD, reliable turbo 4-door for a pretty reasonable price. Can't beat that. Plus there's a ton of potential for high performance.
Just please don't turn into the douche that revs it at the lights and tries to race everyone. They're pathetically slow.

>wrx/sti

>>14799190
Civic Si for the win. VTEC yo.
>>14799908
not sure if serious with some of those picks
>>14799927
Altimas and Nissans in general after 2003 are shit.
>>14799948
Diesel Mercedes: reliable, good mpg, cool. Disregard if you're a filthy normie.
Panther: reliable, decent highway mpg
>>14799952
>Altimas and Nissans in general after 2003 are shit.
really? in what way? I didn't see any huge reliability issue ratings for them online.
what about the mazda 3?
>>14799964
fully admit i'm a filthy normie
panther? I didn't see any on your list.
A lincoln town car is too big, imagine being in LA where parking is a bitch and where you're stuck in traffic 90% of the time. space is a premium.
>>14799973
Quality took a dive, those models have terrible CVTs. They merged with renault.
Mazda 3 is good
>>14800003
The mazda 3 looks really suit, good price, good size, good milage, looks fun to drive.
What do you think of passats? I hear VWs in general have reliability issues and are expensive to fix.
Save your money for the awesome 2017 Model 3. It will be worth it. The ladies love Tesla. Trust me I own a Model S.
>>14799988
that panther has a quarter million miles on it
>>14800052
kek
you know the answer
OP didn't read the sticky - The Thread
>>14800195
getting a good one in socal for 4-8k isn't going to happen
especially since every seller with a manual thinks they're a special snowflake for having a stick
>>14800205
I did.
>>14800195
I don't know anything about beemers, honestly...why are e39 so universally loved by /o/?
there are a lot of bmws for sale here but i'm not dealing with the electrical problems and general bullshit 90% of bmws have. they're beautiful af though.

into the trash it goes.
>>14800744
>>14800744
I mean spec wise, why are they so loved and what makes them so highly demanded?
>>14800816
One of the last good bmws. After it they got bigger and heavier and less engaging to drive. And they lost their dipstick.
>>14800833
Agreed. The BMWs are sad :(
what does /o/ think of vw passats or jettas
>>14799190
Mazda 3.
Best bang for the buck.
>>14801729
You could get a good one but it could also rape your wallet.
>>14804117
>>14800038
I really want a Passat, I have a Golf and it's been great, I just want something bigger and more comfy and it has to be a manual
>>14804421
Really? I have a Golf and it's been just as reliable as my old corolla, the only problems have been interior stuff but I think that was due to neglect from a previous owner
>>14805420
You got a good one then. My sister bought a brand new beetle convertible in 2005 and it was a hunk of shit.
>>14805490
>>14805490
But beetles are known for being shit
What about passats and jettas
Parts are probably expensive though
>>14799190
