There will be a base trim model with over 200 miles that is 35k before tax credits.

Then you can purchase software unlocks for the autopilot and supercharging.
>>
>>14778451

tax incentives only applied to the first 200K, or at least as for right now. they're already approaching near the 300K mark.
>>
>>14778451
supercharging is standard and "autopilot hardware and basic safety features" are standard.
basically
>automatic braking and blind spot monitoring, free
>autonomous driving stuff, some extra cost, probably like 1 or 2 grand
>>
>>14778466
technically the full 7500 only applies for however many of the model 3 it takes to bring tesla's total cars sold to date up to 200k. right now they're at around 100k.
by the end of 2017 they might be 150 or 175k so barely anyone on the list gets the full incentive

This is what I assumed would happen when I first saw it, that they'd give it the Model X "grill" where the point is.

I think they did it without a grill to see how people would react. After all, it's pointless on an election car.

That is what looks best to me. Shitty shop job, but in my head it looks good.
>>
>>14774516
desu, I also ataully like this as well.

The front end is the same size though, and it just looks like they shaped the front for a grille but never actually put one in on the official design.
>>
>>14778451
>Then you can purchase software unlocks for the autopilot and supercharging.
wow people are gonna be hacking their own cars now
>>
>>14783954
Modern car regulations, but it also doesn't look half bad. Once Tesla gets big enough we can get lower front ends and remove the side mirrors.

For now I think that shape is probably the most aerodynamic they can do channel air to the sides or over the car. Going for a front end that channels air aerodynamically though it supercar style would be much too expensive for the baby Tesla. Probably see that on the next-gen roadster.
>>
>>14783985
if they need it for regs, then give it a faux grille like the S has. it at least makes it look right. then if and when regulations loosen we can get a real front end.
>>
>>14783954
will probably look okay with a plate on
>>
>>14784005
That would cost more, and its unnecessary. I like the front end as it is.

My only problem with the car is the fact its not a hatchback. Which is also likely bowing to the needs of aerodynamics that all glass roof is probably really slick.

Still could be tweaked here and there, but ill definitelly buy that

Gasoline is $7.00 a gallon in Japan.

rail transit is also so good. that you don't need to drive far.

since the expressways are all privately run. They have excellent rest stops. Which have public fast charging. will be able to add Tesla superchargers with no problem.

That car is like 50% bigger, you retard.

The Model 3 is like a civic.

It "looks like a turtle" because teardrop shapes are aerodynamic for their volume.
A big part of it having a 200+ mile range is needing to be aerodynamic. Good things engineers are making these designs and not you.

Honestly the original looks better than anything else. It looks a bit weird which is perfect because it alerts the viewer to realize it's missing a piece for a reason.

IMO the 3 makes the X look a bit apologetic and the S almost embarrassingly so. 3 makes a statement. I think it's going to be an iconic form in the future.

>>
>>14789238
I agree with that bit about how it should be different.

The problem is they sculpted it like there should be a grill there, but it's not.

They could have gone with a more rear-engined car looking front.

I think the shops that flatten or point out the front without going full-porsche look a lot better. I think most that add a Grill except the Model X looking one look terrible.

It was an interesting design experiment, though, to create a grill appearance with the shadow. It just doesn't work.
